Purification and Characterization of a Cellulase from the Giant SnailAchatina fulica [PDF]
A cellulase with activity as a cellobiohydrolase [EC3.2.1.91] was purified from the intestinal juice of the giant snail Achatina fulica. Cynnamoyl benzylpiperazine was identified as drug‐like derivative of cinnarizine with anthelmintic activity against A. cantonensis. In this work, 15 out of 31 derivatives showed improved anthelmintic activity with increased solubility. A SAR study was carried out to determine the molecular features involved in such effect.

Forecasting the Risk of Reinvasion by the Giant African Snail in Ogasawara, Japan
This study used SDMs constructed in multiple regions to predict the suitable habitats of Achatina fulica on Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands. The model constructed on another island with a wide distribution range showed the highest predictive accuracy.
