INF2‐Related Charcot–Marie–Tooth Disease in a Japanese Cohort: Genetic and Clinical Insights

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 13, Issue 1, Page 49-57, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background INF2 mutations cause focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease (CMT). Accurate genetic diagnosis is critical, as INF2‐related FSGS is typically resistant to immunotherapy yet rarely recurs after transplantation, and its associated neuropathy can mimic treatable immune‐mediated disorders such as ...

Sonographic Patellar and Quadriceps Tendon Length Pre‐ and Post‐Autograft Harvest: Reliability and Concurrent Validity

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, Volume 44, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Extensor mechanism autografts used for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, namely bone‐patellar tendon‐bone (BPTB) and quadriceps tendon (QT), may result in harvest‐site tendon elongation. Extended field of view (EFOV) ultrasound imaging has the potential to evaluate changes in tendon length, but the reliability and validity of these ...

Primary plastics of Achilles tendon by plantar muscle tendon for the prevention of repeated ruptures (experimental research)

open access: yesActa Biomedica Scientifica, 2013
The most important requirement to Achilles tendon suture is its ability to hold loading both in postoperative and. in rehabilitation period. The research was aimed, at the comparison of strength of classic intertendon suture of Achilles tendon and ...

Estrogen and Progesterone Exhibit Distinct Yet Coordinated Roles in the Regulation of Tendon Extracellular Matrix Remodeling

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, Volume 44, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Remodeling of the extracellular matrix (ECM) is required for the proper healing, strengthening, and maintenance of tendon tissue. There are well‐documented sex differences in tendon injury rates and healing outcomes, often attributed to either innate differences in tissue structure and resident cell signaling or the influence of sex hormones ...

Dynamic Ultrasonography During Nonoperative Treatment following Achilles Tendon Rupture

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Orthopaedics, 2016
Category: Ankle Introduction/Purpose: Many recent studies suggest similar outcome and rerupture rates between operative and nonoperative treatment with accelerated rehabilitation for acute Achilles tendon rupture.

Immunolabelling and Micro‐Computed Tomography Revealed Age‐Related Alterations in 3D Microvasculature of Tendons

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
Immunolabelling and μCT imaging reveal that ageing significantly reduces tendon vascular volume, density and smooth muscle coverage while increasing endothelial cell and pericyte density, indicating a loss of larger vessels alongside enhanced neo‐angiogenesis and disrupted vascular homeostasis, which may contribute to impaired tendon regeneration and ...

Delayed Simultaneous Reconstruction of the ACL and MCL Using Ipsilateral Single Hamstring Tendon Autograft With A Modified Technique

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 1, Page 126-137, January 2026.
In the present study, we outlined a novel method involving the use of a single hamstring autograft for simultaneous reconstruction of the ACL and MCL. This approach can result in comparable stability, MRI findings, and functional outcomes as those who have low‐grade MCL injuries and undergo a single ACL reconstruction.
