Synthesis, Characterization and Spectroscopic Studies of A Novel 2-[(E)-[(2,4-dichlorophenyl)imino]methyl]phenol Schiff Base and Its Metal Complexes

open access: yesE-Journal of Chemistry, 2012
A novel Schiff base 2-{(E)-[(2,4-dichlorophenyl)imino]methyl}phenol (LB) was synthesized from the condensation reaction of 2,4-dichloroaniline with salicyladehyde in [1:1] ratio in the presence of glacial acetic acid as catalyst. Complexation reaction of

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Optimized Method for the Synthesis of Alkyne-Modified 2′-Deoxynucleoside Triphosphates

open access: yesMolecules
A general approach is presented for synthesizing alkyne-modified nucleoside triphosphates via the Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction of unprotected halogenated 2ʹ-deoxynucleoside, followed by monophosphorylation and the reaction of the corresponding ...

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

SYNTHESES, ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITIES OF 2-ARYL-4- QUINOLINE- CARBOXAMIDE DERIVATIVES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 1993
Reaction of aryl methyl ketone with isatin in the presence of a base afforded 2- arylquinoline-4-carboxylic acid (3). Reaction of diazomethane with compound 3 yielded the ester 4. Compound 5 was prepared from the reaction of N, N'-dialkylethyl (or propyl)

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.
