This work evaluates the effect of film-forming amines (FFA) on the acidic stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance of NiCrMoV turbine steel. Contact angle measurements show an increased hydrophobicity of the surface when coating the steel with oleyl ...

Ions in hyaluronic acid solutions [PDF]
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an anionic biopolymer that is almost ubiquitous in biological tissues. An attempt is made to determine the dominant features that account for both its abundance and its multifunctional role, and which set it apart from other types of biopolymers.

Electrospinning of chitosan from different acid solutions
Electrospinning is a production technique for obtaining polymer nanofibers relatively low-cost and straightforward to produce fine fibers. Chitosan (CTS) is a well-known biopolymer widely used for drug delivery, hydrogels, tissue engineering, wound ...

Solution properties of polygalacturonic acid [PDF]
1. The specimen of polygalacturonic acid used in these studies was shown to contain very little neutral sugar, methyl ester groups or ash, and only residues of galacturonic acid. Its electrophoretic homogeneity was examined in pyridine–acetic acid buffer at pH6·5 and in borate buffer at pH9·2. The distribution of effective particle weights was shown to

The Influence of Protonation on the Electroreduction of Bi (III) Ions in Chlorates (VII) Solutions of Different Water Activity [PDF]
We examined the electroreduction of Bi (III) ions in chlorate (VII) solutions under varied protonation conditions of the depolariser using voltammetric and impedance methods. The results of the kinetic parameter correlation lead to the statement that

Chemical behavior of tungstate solutions. Part 1. A spectroscopic survey of the species involved [PDF]
This study is focused on the composition and the evolution of tungstate ions solutions as a function of pH and increasing concentrations. The Raman analysis showed that, during the titration of the tungstate solutions, WO4 2−, HWO4 − ions and probably ...

The Conversion Kinetics of Tincal to Boric Acid in Nitric Acid Solutions [PDF]
Pure borax and various boron compounds are produced from the solutions in which tincal is dissolved with various reagents. Economically important boron compounds such as boric acid, borax, boric oxide, and refined hydrated sodium borates and perborates ...

Ribonucleic acid–deoxyribonucleic acid hybridization in aqueous solutions and in solutions containing formamide [PDF]
Hybridization in 6×SSC (SSC, 0.15m-sodium chloride–0.015m-sodium citrate) at 66°C was compared with hybridization in formamide−6×SSC (1:1, v/v) at 35°C. As expected, the RNA hybridization potential was labile in the former system and stable in the latter. DNA retention by filters was poor in the formamide system, but could be improved.
