Berries and bullets: influence of food and mortality risk on grizzly bears in British Columbia Bayas y balas: influencia de la alimentación y el riesgo de mortalidad en los osos grizzly en la Columbia Británica Des baies et des balles: influence de l'alimentation et risques de mortalité chez les ours grizzlys de la Colombie‐Britannique

open access: yesWildlife Monographs, Volume 213, Issue 1, November 2023., 2023
We developed a spatialized surface for the primary food of grizzly bears in southeast British Columbia. After using this huckleberry patch layer to model habitat selection, fitness, and density, in a bottom‐up top‐down paradigm, we found that huckleberry patches near forestry roads contribute very little to fitness and density.

Finding a safe space: Denning range dynamics of African wild dogs in Zimbabwe

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Ecology, Volume 61, Issue 3, Page 561-572, September 2023., 2023

An evaluation of translocation as a tool to reduce burrowing owl collisions at airports

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, Volume 47, Issue 1, March 2023., 2023
Bird strikes at airports pose a human‐wildlife conflict (HWC) present in the world's major cities. Here, we used the Burrowing Owl (Athene cunicularia) as a model species to test the effectiveness of translocation in reducing the number of collisions, the primary HWC at airports.

Arthroscopic Anatomical Acromioclavicular Joint Reconstruction using a Button Device and a Semitendinosus Graft

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 605-612, March 2022., 2022
In order to minimize complications in acromioclavicular joint dislocation treatment, the authors describe a new anatomical and biological acromioclavicular joint repair that provides adequate primary and secondary biomechanical stability by passing both a semitendinosus autogenous graft and a double endobutton device.

A Technique for a More Accurate Acromioclavicular Joint Reduction in Arthroscopic Coracoclavicular Stabilization of Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, Volume 10, Issue 9, Page e2157-e2164, September 2021., 2021
Abstract Loss of reduction is the most common complication following acromioclavicular dislocations treatment, with literature showing greater postoperative coracoclavicular distances associated with worse clinical results. We present a surgical gesture that aims to help surgeons achieve and secure an anatomic acromioclavicular reduction during ...
