ABSTRACT Rare earth elements (REEs) play an irreplaceable role in modern technology and industry. However, due to the highly similar physicochemical properties among REEs, their separation remains a significant challenge. Additionally, REEs often exist in low‐concentration solutions, making efficient REE recovery an urgent task.

Mechanism of Growth Inhibition by Tungsten in Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans
Cell growth of three hundred iron-oxidizing bacteria isolated from natural environments was inhibited strongly by 0.05 mM, and completely by 0.2 mM of sodium tungstate (Na2WO4), respectively. Since no great difference in the level of tungsten inhibition was observed among the 300 strains tested, the mechanism of inhibition by Na2WO4 was studied with ...

EFFECT OF Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans-CYSTEINE INTERACTIONS ON PYRITE BIOOXIDATION BY Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans IN THE PRESENCE OF COAL COMPOUNDS [PDF]
Abstract This study evaluated the biooxidation of pyrite contained in a Colombian coal (2.38 mm < particle size < 0.50 mm). The variables were cysteine concentration (0-600 mg/L) and culture type (pure Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans (ATCC 23270) and a consortium of Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans (ATCC 15494) and Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans).

Mineral ores are the non-renewable resources of various metals. The extraction of metals is done only from the Ist and IInd grade ore particles and rest is left as such because of low metal content.

Lead‐based perovskite solar cells deliver outstanding power conversion efficiencies, yet their commercialization is constrained by concerns over lead toxicity and stability challenges. Advanced encapsulation and chemical passivation techniques can significantly suppress lead leakage while improving long‐term device stability.

Pyrite oxidation under initially neutral pH conditions and in the presence of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans and micromolar hydrogen peroxide [PDF]
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) at a micromolar level played a role in the microbial surface oxidation of pyrite crystals under initially neutral pH. When the mineral-bacteria system was cyclically exposed to 50 μM H2O2, the colonization of Acidithiobacillus ...
