Comparative Evaluation of Remineralization Potential of Acidulated Phosphate Fluoride and Hydroxyapatite Nanoparticles with and without Iontophoresis on the Incipient Carious Lesion in Permanent Teeth

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Research International, 2021
Background: A non- invasive method used to improve the drug delivery with the help of electric arena is termed as Iontophoresis. The iontophoresis process may cause deeper penetration of ions using electric current.

Fluoride rinse effect on retention of CaF2 formed on enamel/dentine by fluoride application

open access: yesBrazilian Oral Research, 2016
Calcium fluoride-like materials (“CaF2”) formed on dental surfaces after professional fluoride application are unstable in the oral environment but can be retained longer with a daily NaF mouthrinse.

Cariostatic effect of fluoride-containing restorative materials associated with fluoride gels on root dentin

open access: yesJournal of Applied Oral Science, 2010
Secondary caries is still the main cause of restoration replacement, especially on the root surface OBJECTIVE: This in vitro study evaluated the cariostatic effects of fluoride-containing restorative materials associated with fluoride gels, on root ...

Fluoride release and fluoride-recharging ability of three different sealants

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, 2020
Background: We aimed to determine the fluoride release and fluoride-recharging ability of a sealant containing surface pre-reacted glass (S-PRG) ionomer filler particles (BeautiSealant) with a fluoride-releasing resin sealant (Helioseal F), and a glass ...

Changes in the surface texture of pre-polymerized acrylic resin pediatric crowns following acidulated phosphate fluoride application.

open access: yesDental materials journal
This study aimed to investigate the effect of acidulated phosphate fluoride (APF) application on filler-free polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)-based resin blocks for computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM), focusing on their use in ...

The effect of acidulated phosphate fluoride application on dental enamel surfaces hardness

open access: yesDental Journal, 2007
Enamel demineralization by acid is the first step of caries process. It has recently been shown that acidulated phosphate fluoride (APF) can maintain the hardness of enamel surface.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The effect of fluoride gel on tensile properties, surface morphology and chemical composition of two types of orthodontic wires (an in-vitro study)

open access: yesJournal of Orthodontic Science, 2021
OBJECTIVE: Stainless steel and nickel-titanium wires are commonly used in fixed orthodontic appliances. Orthodontists often prescribe fluoride gel to avoid demineralization of teeth. This study investigated the effect of acidulated phosphate fluoride gel
