Characterization of acifluorfen selectivity mechanisms in tomato and related Lycopersicon species

open access: yes, 1990
Fourteen tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) genotypes, Eastern Black nightshade, and 35 wild Lycopersicon accessions were screened for tolerance to acifluorfen.

The Crystal Structure of Acifluorfen {5-[2-Chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)-phenoxy]-2-nitrobenzoic Acid}

open access: yes, 1987
The crystal structure of the herbicide acifluorfen (5-[(2-chloro-4-trifluoromethyl)]phenoxy-2- nitrobenzoic acid] has been determined by X-ray diffraction and refined to a residual of 0.051for 1124 observed reflections.

Using Reduced Rates of Postemergence Herbicides in Soybeans (Glycine max)

open access: yes, 1991
Eight field studies were conducted in soybeans at seven locations in Kansas over a 3-yr period to examine the efficacy of using reduced rates of the herbicides acifluorfen, bentazon, chlorimuron, and tank mixes of acifluorfen and bentazon.

Tropic Croton (Croton glandulosus) Control in Peanut (Arachis hypogaea)

open access: yes, 1991
Field studies in 1988 and 1989 evaluated POST herbicides alone and in tank-mixtures for tropic croton control in peanut. Acifluorfen + 2,4-DB, acifluorfen + bentazon, acifluorfen + bentazon + 2,4-DB controlled > 90% of tropic croton when applied at 2 ...

Horse Purslane (Trianthema portulacastrum) Control in Peanut (Arachis hypogaea)

open access: yes, 1993
Field experiments in 1988 and 1989 evaluated five POST herbicides alone or combined for horse purslane control in peanut. Acifluorfen, acifluorfen plus bentazon, pyridate plus 2,4-DB, and lactofen controlled more than 75% when rated up to 26 days after ...

Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) Tolerance to Diphenyl Ether Herbicides Applied Postemergence

open access: yes, 1989
Tolerance of tomato cultivars to diphenyl ether herbicides applied postemergence was determined in greenhouse and field experiments. In greenhouse experiments, tomato cultivar tolerance differed, but acifluorfen injured all genotypes.
