Interplay of Spatial Structure and Interactions in Microbial Communities
A description of the interplay between microbial growth and interactions, the spatial structure of the environment and the spatial organisation of microbial populations can improve our understanding of the ecology of microbial communities. We review previous studies that highlight different aspects of this interplay.

The quality and flavour profile of silage affect its palatability and the feed intake of ruminants. This study offers a novel strategy for optimising the synergistic fermentation of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and phenylethyl acetate, thereby enhancing alfalfa silage flavour quality and promoting sheep feed intake.

Exposures in Indoor Air Affecting Health
ABSTRACT Indoor air quality (IAQ) is influenced by a wide range of chemical, biological and physical agents that can negatively impact physical, immunological and mental health. Adverse health effects depend on the type and concentration of pollutants, duration of exposure, and individual susceptibility.

Biofilm Associated Persistence and Drug Tolerance in Mycobacteria Within Host Microenvironments
ABSTRACT Biofilms formed by mycobacteria, particularly Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), represent a major challenge in tuberculosis (TB) treatment due to their highly organized structure and their capacity to induce phenotypic drug tolerance. These three‐dimensional bacterial aggregates are embedded in a self‐produced extracellular matrix that ...
