Dual-band perfect low-frequency acoustic absorption based on metaporous composite

open access: yes, 2021
We present a low-frequency dual-band (303 and 356 Hz) perfect acoustic absorption (PA) metaporous. The metaporous composite is constructed by introducing Helmholtz resonance and Fabry–Pérot resonance in porous materials.

An Integration Strategy for Acoustic Metamaterials to Achieve Absorption by Design

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
As much of metamaterials’ properties originate from resonances, the novel characteristics displayed by acoustic metamaterials are a narrow bandwidth and high dispersive in nature. However, for practical applications, broadband is often a necessity.

A Composite Perforated Partitioned Sandwich Panel With Corrugation for Underwater Low-Frequency Sound Absorption

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering, 2021
Underwater acoustic wave absorption and control play an important role in underwater applications. Various types of underwater acoustic metamaterials have been proposed in recent years with the vigorous development of acoustic metamaterials.

The acoustic absorption of textile curtains on the function of the fullness

open access: yesMateriales de Construccion, 2013
Acoustic absorbing materials are applied to reduce noise levels in a room. They are also used to adjust the reverberation time an acoustic enclosure to use for which it´s designed. There are multi-purpose rooms for conferences, concerts, cinemas, etc. In

Measurement of the Acoustic Relaxation Absorption Spectrum of CO2 Using a Distributed Bragg Reflector Fiber Laser

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Reconstruction of the acoustic relaxation absorption curve is a powerful approach to ultrasonic gas sensing, but it requires knowledge of a series of ultrasonic absorptions at various frequencies around the effective relaxation frequency.

Design and manufacture of low-frequency acoustic absorption metamaterials with enhanced coupling characteristic

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping
The current designs of low-frequency acoustic absorption metamaterials suffer from inadequate prediction accuracy and low efficiency. Herein, by integrating impedance theory with artificial neural networks, we propose an optimisation method of unit ...

Noise Reduction Potential of Cellular Metals

open access: yesMetals, 2012
Rising numbers of flights and aircrafts cause increasing aircraft noise, resulting in the development of various approaches to change this trend. One approach is the application of metallic liners in the hot gas path of aero-engines.
