Sound radiation by a vortex pair moving near a rectangular cylinder.
The sound generated by a vortex pair moving close to a rectangular cylinder is studied by high-resolution simulations of the two-dimensional unsteady compressible Navier-Stokes equations at Mach numbers ranging from 0.05 to 0.3.

Influence of Cabin Doors on the Flow Field and Aerodynamic Noise of Landing Gear
The front landing gear generally has a bilateral symmetrical doors, which is different from the main landing gear. The opened landing gear door can interfere with the flow field and noise of the landing gear and reflect when the civil aircraft enters the ...

Acoustic Analogy for Multiphase or Multicomponent Flow [PDF]
The Ffowcs Williams and Hawkings (FW-H) equation is widely used to predict sound generated from flow and its interaction with impermeable or permeable surfaces. Owing to the Heaviside function used, this equation assumes that sound only propagates outside the surface.

Validating Confined Flame Noise Simulation Using External Sensor
Advancements in lean premixed combustion have increased the efficiency and reduced the amount of greenhouse gas emissions, but they have led to increased noise emissions due to higher turbulence and mixing fluctuations. This study used an external sensor

Acoustic perturbation equations and Lighthill's acoustic analogy for the human phonation [PDF]
In speech, air is driven through the larynx by compression of the lungs. Thereby, air flows through the glottis which forces the vocal folds to oscillate which in turn results in a pulsating air flow. This air flow is the main source of the generated sound—the phonation.

Prediction of flow noise around a cylinder based on Large-Eddy Simulation and acoustic analogy method [PDF]
In this article, a hybrid method combining large eddy simulation with acoustic analogy is presented to predict three-dimensional far field noise induced by flow around a cylinder. Firstly, the governing equation including RANS equations with shear-stress

A generalized acoustic analogy [PDF]
The purpose of this article is to show that the Navier–Stokes equations can be rewritten as a set of linearized inhomogeneous Euler equations (in convective form) with source terms that are exactly the same as those that would result from externally imposed shear-stress and energy-flux perturbations.

Aeroacoustic Noise Characteristics of Flow around a Square Column Based on Large Eddy Simulation
Large eddy simulation and Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings (FW-H) equation were used to investigate the aeroacoustic noise characteristics of flow around a square column.
