Optic generation and perpetuation of acoustic bubble clusters

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry
Laser-induced cavitation bubbles offer precise control of the flow in space and time, but they are rarely used for the mechanical and chemical processing of liquids.

Ultrasound‐Actuated Gene Editing in Human Kidney Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peptide‐stabilized nanoemulsions enable spatially controlled, ultrasound‐triggered delivery of gene‐editing proteins deep within human kidney organoid tissues. Focused acoustic pulses drive droplet vaporization, propelling cargo into target renal cells while preserving native tissue microarchitecture. This non‐viral platform improves both the depth and

Evaluation of Liner Cavitation Potential through Piston Slap and BEM Acoustics Coupled Analysis

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Internal combustion engines take up the major position in the power facility market and still encounter some challenges; one key issue is liner cavitation erosion. The impact vibration between piston and cylinder generates pressure fluctuation on the wet

Thermochemical Micro‐Explosion for Prompt Thrombolysis via Proximal Injection of Liquid Alkali Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a micro‐explosive thermochemical thrombolysis (METCT) therapy via injectable liquid alkali metal encapsulated in dimethyl silicone (LAM@oil). METCT enables prompt and safe vascular recanalization within 90 s. Critically, the LAM@oil system demonstrates significantly higher thrombolytic efficacy compared to clinically available thrombolytic ...

Cavitation cloud formation and surface damage of a model stone in a high-intensity focused ultrasound field

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry
This work investigates the fundamental role of cavitation bubble clouds in stone comminution by focused ultrasound. The fragmentation of stones by ultrasound has applications in medical lithotripsy for the comminution of kidney stones or gall stones ...

Experimental Study of the Acoustic Cavitation Threshold in Sunflower Oil Depending on Different Impact Regime

open access: yesAcoustics, 2022
In engineering problems associated with acoustic wave propagation in a liquid, cavitation onset could be an adverse phenomenon, or, conversely, a required process.

Microblasting Wound Dressings Mechanically Disrupt Polymicrobial Biofilms to Enhance Healing in Treatment‐Resistant Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Treatment‐resistant wounds caused by polymicrobial biofilms are refractory to conventional therapies due to the dense extracellular matrices. We developed μBLAST, a microblasting wound dressing that combines MnO2‐doped biosilica and a H2O2‐releasing mesh to generate localized oxygen microbubbles that mechanically disrupt biofilms.

Inside‐Outside ROS Therapeutic Strategy Based on Piezoelectric Nano‐Urchin for Drug‐Resistant Bacteria Biofilm Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The contribution of this study lies not only in enabling effective treatment of drug‐resistant biofilm infections, but also in establishing a transferable therapeutic paradigm: Ultrasound‐triggered mechanical forces synergistically enhance piezoelectric polarization and nanozyme activity, driving functional ROS generation inside and outside biofilms ...
