Within-Event Spatially Distributed Bedload: Linking Fluvial Sediment Transport to Morphological Change [PDF]
Maps of apparent bedload velocity are presented along with maps of associated channel change. Apparent bedload velocity is the bias in acoustic Doppler current profiler (aDcp) bottom track (Doppler sonar) due to near-bed particle motion (Rennie et al ...

Activatable smart contrast agents for photoacoustic imaging
This review highlights recent advances in smart activatable photoacoustic imaging (PAI) contrast agents, which dynamically modulate their optical properties in response to external stimuli or microenvironmental cues. It discusses their molecular design, activation mechanisms, biomedical applications, and future prospects for clinically tailored use ...

Abstract The migratory behaviour of Atlantic salmon kelts is poorly understood. Due to the Atlantic salmon's considerable socio‐economic and ecological importance, their precipitous population abundance declines, and the population resilience potential of salmon kelts, addressing these knowledge gaps is important.

Current monitoring for environmental pollution studies by acoustic Doppler current profiling [PDF]
NOAA’s National Ocean Service (NOS) has been measuring and predicting coastal currents for over 100 years. In earlier times, measurements were made with current poles, or propeller-type current meters. In the late 1980’s, acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCPs) were widely adopted.

ABSTRACT Harmful algal blooms (HABs) are a threat to fish welfare, occurring suddenly and unexpectedly causing significant consequences for fish and salmon farmers worldwide. Norwegian farmers have been facing this challenge at irregular intervals since the very beginning of the industry. This report describes the events on the first fish farm affected

Arctic Water Current in the Bear Island Trough
We analyzed Conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) and moored Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) measurements in the western Barents Sea carried out onboard the Russian R/V Akademik Mstislav Keldysh (cruise 68) in July–August 2017.

ABSTRACT The Gollum Channel System is a land‐detached large‐scale canyon‐channel system situated offshore southwest Ireland on the Northeast Atlantic margin. The system has been considered inactive with downslope gravity flows since the last glacial period, but geophysical data in some of its branches do suggest Holocene activity.
