Stereophonic acoustic echo cancellation

open access: yes, 2005
This paper presents a new approach for Stereophonic acoustic echo cancellation (SAEC), based on a combination of J-H network and the natural gradient algorithm.

Rethinking Spatial Prioritisation for Primate Conservation in an Unprotected Intact Forest Landscape in the Gulf of Guinea

open access: yesAnimal Conservation, EarlyView.
This study highlights the importance of the unprotected Yabassi Key Biodiversity Area, Cameroon, for primate conservation in the Gulf of Guinea biodiversity hotspot. We modelled primate distribution patterns and found that historically overlooked parts of the landscape have high species richness and are critical for some threatened species.

Acoustic echo cancellation inside a truck cabin

open access: yes, 2020
In the modern world, a day without telecommunication is almost unimaginable. A telecommunication system is used in almost every sector. In earlier days only luxury cars had the feature of a hands free communication but now it has become one of the basic ...

Relationships between chick vocalizations and parental absence in Kentish Plovers

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
Chick calls within bird species vary greatly, often in relation to whether parents are present. We studied chick calls in a nidifugous shorebird, the Kentish Plover Anarhynchus alexandrinus, in three circumstances—(1) on the nest with parental presence; (2) on the nest with parental absence; and (3) out‐of‐nest with human observer presence—and ...

Blind Signal Separation Algorithm for Acoustic Echo Cancellation

open access: yes, 2018
This paper is to the blind signal separation algorithm applied to acoustic echo cancellation. This algorithm doesn’t degrade the performance of echo cancellation even in the double-talk.

Johan Svendsen and Two‐Dimensional Sonata Form

open access: yesMusic Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article discusses progressive formal strategies in the music of Johan Svendsen (1840–1911). Svendsen is one of Norway's foremost composers of large‐scale orchestral music, but his works have so far garnered scant attention in Anglophone scholarship.

Sound offset responses become highly informative in the auditory cortex

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Using large datasets of neural responses to diverse sounds recorded across four stages of the mouse auditory system (depicted and colour‐coded on the left), offset responses occurring after the termination of each sound (time window indicated by the orange shaded area superimposed with activity traces) were characterized and it ...

Improved efficient proportionate affine projection algorithm based on l(0)-norm for sparse system identification

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2014
A new improved memorised improved proportionate affine projection algorithm (IMIPAPA) is proposed to improve the convergence performance of sparse system identification, which incorporates l(0)-norm as a measure of sparseness into a recently proposed ...
