Nonlinear acoustic echo cancellation using feedback

open access: yes2013 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2013
Acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) is a well studied problem. One of the main assumptions in existing AEC techniques is that the echo path is linear. In today's equipment, this assumption does always hold. The increasing focus on the look and feel of commercial devices and consequently the decreasing size of their loudspeakers are the major contributors ...

An integrated approach to acoustic noise and echo cancellation

Signal Processing, 2005
We describe an approach to speech signal enhancement where acoustic echo cancellation and noise reduction, which are traditionally handled separately, are combined in one integrated scheme. The optimization problem defined by this scheme is solved adaptively using a QRD-based least squares lattice (QRD-LSL) algorithm.

An improved new error estimation algorithm for optimal filter lengths for stereophonic acoustic echo cancellation

open access: yesComputers and Electrical Engineering, 2010
In this paper, we propose an new error estimate algorithm (NEEA) for stereophonic acoustic echo cancellation (SAEC) that is based on the error estimation algorithm (EEA) in [Nguyen-Ky T, Leis J, Xiang W.

Nonlinear acoustic echo cancellation with kernelized adaptive filters

open access: yesApplied Acoustics, 2020
© 2020 Elsevier Ltd A well-known problem in speech communication is the occurrence of acoustic echo in hands-free telephony. There are several classical adaptive filters that have been used as a stand alone approach for linear acoustic echo cancellation ...

An acoustic echo canceler

IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference, 1989
The authors describe an experimental 1000-tap, single-chip, programmable acoustic echo canceler designed in a 3- mu m, double-metal, p-well, CMOS technology. Hardware minimization is considered from both the system and the architecture perspective. To implement more simply an echo-canceler chip with 1000 taps, floating-point representations for both ...

An acoustic echo canceller chip

Fifth International Workshop on System-on-Chip for Real-Time Applications (IWSOC'05), 2005
This paper has mentioned new algorithms in adaptive acoustic echo cancellation (AEC): subband adaptive filtering (SAF) and partitioned block Hartley domain adaptive filtering (PBHDAF). The computational complexity of these algorithms is less than their older partners with very fast convergence rate.

Acoustic echo canceler

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2000
The invention provides an acoustic echo canceler which realizes sufficient echo suppression processing on an auditory sense which matches with an amount of calculation and realizes a good speech quality. The acoustic echo canceler includes a first analysis filter bank for dividing a reception signal into a plurality of sub-bands, a plurality of ...

Adaptive filter length selection for acoustic echo cancellation

open access: yesSignal Processing, 2009
The number of coefficients in an adaptive finite impulse response filter-based acoustic echo cancellation setup is an important parameter, affecting the overall performance of the echo cancellation.
