High‐mobility suspended MoS2 devices with tunable threshold voltage

open access: yesInfoMat, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
Due to their atomic‐scale thickness, two‐dimensional materials (2DMs) are highly sensitive to their environment, including the substrate. By fabricating various suspended molybdenum disulfide devices, this study demonstrates that the suspended structure can shield the influence of the substrate on the properties of 2DMs, thereby enabling better ...

High‐Throughput N‐Glycan Analysis by IR‐MALDESI With a 1.5‐kHz Pulsed Mid‐IR Laser

open access: yesJournal of Mass Spectrometry, Volume 61, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Infrared matrix‐assisted laser desorption electrospray ionization (IR‐MALDESI) is a laser‐based, hybrid ionization source for mass spectrometry, enabling both mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) and high‐throughput screening (HTS). In this work, a 2.2‐ns, 2.72‐μm laser, operating at 1.5 kHz, was integrated into the IR‐MALDESI platform to evaluate ...

Comparison of Enamel, Dentin, and the Dentin–Enamel Junction in Horse, Dog, Wild Boar, and Macaque Using Confocal Raman Microscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 57, Issue 5, Page 871-878, May 2026.
Confocal Raman microscopy was used to map the dentin–enamel junction (DEJ) across four mammalian species. Chemical maps highlighted variations in mineral (phosphate/carbonate) and organic (amide/CH) phase. These results provide a comparative Raman framework to link tooth microchemistry with species‐specific structure and function.

Community attitudes and support for the restoration of a cryptic seabird in a peopled landscape

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 8, Issue 5, Page 1362-1378, May 2026.
Abstract Ecological restoration projects aim to facilitate species recovery, including the reintroduction and recolonisation of extirpated species. In the case of highly mobile species, restoring habitat within the species' historic range can lead to natural recolonisation.

Impacts of Blade Camber on Cross‐Flow Turbine Performance and Loading

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Cross‐flow turbines show promise for renewable energy generation from wind and tidal sources. The rotating reference frame of cross‐flow turbine blades results in virtual camber and incidence due to streamline curvature, altering the lift, drag, and pitching moment of the blades. Adding geometric camber is therefore likely to alter performance
