A multilayered acoustic hyperlens with acoustic metamaterials
Applied Physics A, 2011The acoustic hyperlens can be realized by an alternating layered structure of water and fluid with negative mass density. Based on this alternating layered principle, we propose that an acoustic metamaterial consisting of three layers in water background can be designed to replace the fluid with negative mass density.

New acoustics, based on metamaterial
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012With the capability to fabricate acoustical metamaterial:phononic crystals, double negative material and materials with material parameters based on the predetermined direction of sound propagation, one can control and manipulate sound propagation in solids and fluids.

'Maxwellian' macroscopic acoustics and acoustic metamaterials
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2008For electromagnetic wave propagation it was found that there exist composite media exhibiting strong spatial dispersion. This has raised the question of the relevance of the spatial dispersion in the characterization of the new metamaterials. The present communication intends to show that exactly the same problematic occurs in acoustics when ...

Effective Parameters of Acoustic Metamaterials
Russian Physics Journal, 2018Analytical expressions are presented for the wave number, the characteristic wave impedance, and the refractive index of homogeneous longitudinal plane waves propagating in an acoustic metamaterial with dissipative losses. The metamaterial is characterized by the effective scalar material parameters: the complex density and the compressibility.

Acoustic conjugate metamaterials
Physical Review B, 2019Compared to metamaterials based on regulation of real material parameters, artificial materials designed by controlling complex parameters exhibit richer physics and different functions. In this work, we present acoustic conjugate metamaterials, which possess complex mass densities and bulk compressibilities with opposite phases, to manipulate acoustic

Bubbly metamaterials are created by exploiting the low-frequency Minnaert resonance of bubbles, and can radically modify acoustic wave behaviour. In this presentation, I will first review the properties of bubble metascreens, which consist of a single layer of bubbles in a soft solid, and can be very efficient absorbers of waterborne acoustic waves ...

Nonlinear acoustic metamaterials
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2019Acoustic metamaterials (AMM) have become a very active topic for research in numerous domains of engineering and science because of their promise to create materials, structures, and devices that can control acoustic wave propagation in ways that exceed the capabilities of naturally occurring or conventional composite materials.
