Development of Acoustic Insulating Carpets from Milkweed Fibers Using Air-Laid Spike Process
Fibers from milkweed, which grows in Quebec (Canada), offer a distinct and outstanding advantage compared to other natural fibers: their ultra-lightweight hollow structure provides excellent acoustic and thermal insulation properties for the automobile ...

Confinement effects on the vibrational properties of III-V and II-VI nanoclusters
We present a first-principles study of the confinement effects on the vibrational properties of thousand atoms (radii up to 16.2 {\AA}) colloidal III-V and II-VI nanoclusters.

Acoustic properties of /h/ [PDF]
The aim of this paper is twofold: (1) to investigate the physical mechanisms of sound generation for the consonant /h/ and (2) to examine the timing of supraglottal and glottal movements of /h/. Utterances in which /h/ was present or absent (e.g., “new heart” versus “new art”) were analyzed acoustically and contrasted.

Acoustic properties of 15-5 PH maraging steel after energy deposition
The study of the acoustic properties of maraging steels operated under various energy force and temperature actions is a critical task, since it is the method of acoustic structuroscopy that provides the most reliable connection with the structure ...
