ACOUSTIC SIGNAL PROCESSING APPARATUS AND ACOUSTIC SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012An apparatus for performing processing of an input acoustic signal to be reproduced by a loudspeaker, which generates a harmonic of a low pitch sound component equal to or lower than a predetermined low cutoff frequency, and generates a harmonic synthesized acoustic signal synthesizing the input signal with the harmonic.

Machine analysis of acoustical signals
Pattern Recognition, 1983Research toward machine analysis of acoustical signals is described. The approach Is that of the expert system, where knowledge about the physical world that produced the signals is used by the system in the interpretation process. Expert systems have already matched human capabilities in certain applications such as chemical structure analysis and ...

How cicadas interpret acoustic signals
Nature, 2000The vertebrate ear can analyse the frequency components of sound with high resolution, recognizing complex acoustic signals even against a noisy background1. By contrast, insect ears can separate only broad-frequency bands, resulting in a categorical perception of sound2.

Classification of transient signals (acoustic signals)
ICASSP-88., International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003The authors are concerned with the classification of transient signals. Spectral ratio distance measures operating on the parametric spectra of the transient signals are used to perform classification. Performance of the classification algorithm is studied analytically and experimentally using both synthetic and real data.

Signal processing refers to the acquisition, storage, display, and generation of signals – also to the extraction of information from signals and the re-encoding of information. As such, signal processing in some form is an essential element in the practice of all aspects of acoustics.

Acoustic/underwater signaling device
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2008The present invention is concerned with an underwater communication device, and more specifically a device that is simple in design, is simple to operate, is powered solely by a simple pull from a swimmers or diver's hand against the resistance of a spring or elastic band, is extremely low maintenance, is resistant to accidental sound generation ...

Acoustic Signalling in Female Fish
2015Sound production in female fish has only seldom been mentioned, which is in contrast to the vast literature on male sound production. This lack of information is surprising because sound-generating mechanisms are present in females of (almost) all vocal species.

Acoustic signal producing apparatus
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002An acoustic signal producing apparatus wherein various musical effects are applied to a musical tone signal and an acoustic signal respectively produced at an internal tone generator and supplied from an external device such as a microphone, an electronic musical instrument or the like in such a manner that an applying state of the musical effects can ...
