Microcontroller based acoustic signal processing

2019 7th International Conference on Control, Mechatronics and Automation (ICCMA), 2019
This paper aim to propose an alternative, cost efficient and innovative method for the processing of underwater acoustic signals. The proposed solution is based purely on a single microcontroller instead of data acquisition cards to carry out all the operations of the depth sounding system including the processing of the acoustic signal.

Acoustic signal processing apparatus

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994
An acoustic signal processing apparatus comprising infinite impulse response type digital filters and phase control device. The filters receive an acoustic signal. Outputs from the filters are synthesized to generate an output signal. The phase control device controls the phase of the output signals so as to cause limit cycle noise components generated

Multichannel acoustic signal processing

2012
Multichannel audio is necessary to enhance sound realism in a teleconferencing system. Sound spatialization to improve the quality of service can be achieved through the use of three-dimensional (3-D) audio systems. A 3-D audio system implemented using loudspeakers inherently suffers from the problem of acoustic crosstalk cancellation.

Signal processing in acoustic imaging

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1979
A review of signal processing methods which can be used to improve the effectiveness of systems designed for acoustic imaging and bearing estimation is presented. Topics covered include a) signal processing for increased resolution, b) the processing of stochastic acoustic signals, c) image processing, enhancement, and pattern recognition.

Laser-Acoustic Signal Processing

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and Control Instrumentation, 1969
The variable delay and processing of RF and microwave signals is a current problem of considerable importance both for the many military applications in radar and electronic counter-measures and for the civilian applications in signal processing. The very low velocity of acoustic waves, as compared to the propagation velocity of electromagnetic signals,

History of signal processing in acoustics

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002
The Technical Committee on Signal Processing in Acoustics is the youngest of the ASA’s 13 Technical Committees. It was formed as an Interdisciplinary Technical Group in Fall 1994 and was converted to a Technical Committee in Fall 2000. It has had over 120 technical sessions, cosponsoring sessions with all of the other Technical Committees.

Acoustic Signal Processing to Diagnose Transiting Electric Trains

IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2005
This paper deals with a method based on vibroacoustic techniques to diagnose electric trains and other important railway components. The proposed method can detect the following main subsystems: pantographs, electrical contact lines, rails, bogies, wheels, etc. Signal-processing techniques are thoroughly applied to acoustic vibrations that are directly

Signal processing for underwater acoustic communications

IEEE Communications Magazine, 2009
The performance and complexity of signal processing systems for underwater acoustic communications has dramatically increased over the last two decades. With its origins in noncoherent modulation and detection for communication at rates under 100 b/s, phase-coherent digital communication systems employing multichannel adaptive equalization with ...

ACOUSTIC TRANSDUCER ARRAY SIGNAL PROCESSING

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012
A set of filters is configured to distribute input signals representing a single perceptual axis to first and second physically separate arrays (10OL, 100R) of loudspeakers comprising at least first and second transducers (104, 106, 108, 110), such that the arrays of loudspeakers will create an array pattern corresponding to the input signals when the ...
