Acoustic Simulations of Combined Electric and Acoustic Hearing (EAS)
Ear and Hearing, 2005Our aim was to explore the consequences for speech understanding of leaving a gap in frequency between a region of acoustic hearing and a region stimulated electrically. Our studies were conducted with normal-hearing listeners, using an acoustic simulation of combined electric and acoustic (EAS) stimulation.Simulations of EAS were created by low-pass ...

Room acoustics simulation is achieved by digitally defining delay and weighting parameters and generating sampled analog signal responses. In the early portion of a response term an accurate impulse response is provided and subsequently high echo density is simulated using sampled analog signal Schroeder sections. A sampled data analog signal device is

Acoustic emission leak simulator
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1993An acoustic emission leak simulator (10) for a nondestructive simulation of a leak in a structure employs a fluid supply with variable orifice (18) for controllably releasing the fluid to create a simulated leak source (20). An acoustic waveguide (22) acoustically coupled to the variable orifice (18) couples the sound waves into the structure (12) for ...

Acoustic tomographic array simulation
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2004Acoustic travel-time tomography of the atmosphere allows one to retrieve the virtual temperature and wind velocity fields, and to monitor their evolution in time. The temperature and wind velocity fields in a horizontal slice near the ground have been successfully retrieved by several research groups. One future direction for acoustic tomography of the

Numerical Simulation of Vortex-acoustic Coupled Acoustic Signals Based on Ray Acoustics
2021 OES China Ocean Acoustics (COA), 2021The energy dissipation during the navigation of underwater targets will form large-scale vortices in the ocean. The coupling between sound waves and wake vortices can determine the existence and morphological characteristics of wake vortices, and then to detect underwater targets.

Acoustic simulations of Mudejar-Gothic churches
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2009In this paper, an iterative process is used in order to estimate the values of absorption coefficients of those materials of which little is known in the literature, so that an acoustic simulation can be carried out in Mudejar-Gothic churches. The estimation of the scattering coefficients, which is even less developed, is based on the size of the ...

Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonators 3D Simulation
2007 International Symposium on Signals, Systems and Electronics, 2007This article discusses numerical simulations of thin film bulk acoustic wave resonators. FBAR simulation with 1D analytical model permits to quickly determine resonator layers thicknesses that correspond to the objective resonant frequency. 3D finite elements method permits to investigate the effect of the electrode shape on the spurious modes that are

Matrix method for acoustic levitation simulation
IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 2011A matrix method is presented for simulating acoustic levitators. A typical acoustic levitator consists of an ultrasonic transducer and a reflector. The matrix method is used to determine the potential for acoustic radiation force that acts on a small sphere in the standing wave field produced by the levitator.
