Web-based geometric acoustic simulator
Proceedings of the 23rd International ACM Conference on 3D Web Technology, 2018Geometric acoustics is one of the most commonly used techniques for exploring what a virtual environment sounds like. These methods allow the user to place a sound source and receiver in a space and compute how the space influences what the receiver hears. These simulation methods are well-known, but most are proprietary or difficult to implement.

Simulation of naval platforms' acoustic signals
2012 20th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2012In this study, a simulation environment has been developed to simulate signal characteristics of both underwater ambient noise and naval vehicles. This simulation environment will be used to develop algorithms for detection and classification of different naval vehicles.

Software for simulation of indoor acoustic fields
The IEEE Region 8 EUROCON 2003. Computer as a Tool., 2004This is a new software for the simulation of acoustic fields in small and intermediate rectangular rooms. This software is based on mirror image modeling and it can be used for acoustic design and education. The simulated acoustic field can be presented graphically in a 3D view as a distribution of sound pressure in the room, or in a 2D view as curves ...

Cerebellar Atrophy Simulating Acoustic Neurinoma
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1967THE BATTERY of audiological tests, sometimes referred to as "site of lesion" tests, has reached a point of sophistication that makes it possible for the audiologist to indicate whether the lesion is in the cochlear or retrocochlear portion of the auditory pathways.

Accelerated wave-based acoustics simulation
Proceedings of the 2008 ACM symposium on Solid and physical modeling, 2008We present an efficient technique to model sound propagation accurately in an arbitrary 3D scene by numerically integrating the wave equation. We show that by performing an offline modal analysis and using eigenvalues from a refined mesh, we can simulate sound propagation with reduced dispersion on a much coarser mesh, enabling accelerated computation.

Acoustic simulation of a patient's obstructed airway
Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering, 2015This research focuses on the numerical simulation of stridor; a high pitched, abnormal noise, resulting from turbulent airflow and vibrating tissue through a partially obstructed airway. Characteristics of stridor noise are used by medical doctors as indication for location and size of the obstruction.

Simulating Acoustics of a Room Using MATLAB
2019 22nd International Conference on Control Systems and Computer Science (CSCS), 2019A speech given inside a big room will always be distorted by the undesirable effect of echo. Taking advantage of the linearities of sound reflections, we propose a method for simulating voices affected by reverberation in different rooms. Our approach is based on the Room Impulse Response (RIR) method and our technique reveals an easy and intuitive way

Matrix method for acoustic levitation simulation
IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 2011A matrix method is presented for simulating acoustic levitators. A typical acoustic levitator consists of an ultrasonic transducer and a reflector. The matrix method is used to determine the potential for acoustic radiation force that acts on a small sphere in the standing wave field produced by the levitator.
