Frequency spectra of cochlear acoustic emissions (’’Kemp‐echoes’’)

Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1981
Cochlear acoustic emissions were recorded with a sensitive microphone from within the ear canal of normal hearing subjects. Frequency spectra of these acoustic emissions were obtained with two different procedures: real-time recording or calculation of the spectrum of time-averaged emissions.

Naturally Enhanced Ion-Acoustic Spectra And Their Interpretation

open access: yesSurveys in Geophysics, 2001
Incoherent scatter radars are designed to detect scatter from thermalfluctuations in the ionosphere. These fluctuations contain, among other things, features associated with ion-acoustic waves driven by random motions within theplasma. The resulting spectra are generally broad and noisy, but neverthelessthe technique can, through a detailed analysis of ...

Acoustical Phonon Spectra of Biological Polymers

Nature, 1966
ALTHOUGH much has been done in an attempt to understand the kinetics of biological processes in terms of their molecular motions1–4, it appears that until now no one has attempted to calculate or measure the proper (normal) modes of motion of helical biological polymers.

Waveform and Frequency Spectra of Acoustic Emissions

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1971
Stress waves generated internally by deforming materials provide information about the operative deformation mechanisms. These stress waves are known as acoustic emissions. Acoustic emission stands alongside conventional ultrasonic methods as a useful technique of nondestructive testing.

Subspace-Based Identification of Acoustic Noise Spectra in Induction Motors

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2015
WOS: 000352056300004In this paper, we study the identification of acoustic noise spectra in induction motors by using a recently developed frequency-domain cross-power spectrum estimation algorithm.

Acoustic cavitation noise spectra

Applied Scientific Research, 1982
Experiments are described which allow to measure and visualize the dynamics of the total acoustic cavitation noise spectrum. A distinct threshold for broad-band noise much higher than the threshold for the first subharmonic has been found. At this noise threshold a broadening of all spectral lines is observed.

Acoustic phonon spectra of FeCl2

Solid State Communications, 1974
Abstract The acoustic phonon dispersion curves for FeCl2 at room temperature have been measured by inelastic neutron scattering. The slope of the TA (ζ00) e ‖ z branch, 1650 m sec , is found to be close to that proposed by Laurence and Petitgrand (1500 m sec ) to explain the drop in the low temperature thermal conductivity due to ...

Electroacoustic contingency management of the acoustic spectra of speech

Journal of Communication Disorders, 1975
Three studies involving the manipulation of the acoustic spectrum of speech are described. An array of electronic equipment was set up which signaled the presence or absence of certain frequency characteristics of speech. Subjects (Ss) were given feedback for production of speech containing targeted frequencies.

Spectra of laser acoustic signals in water

2011 International Conference on Electric Information and Control Engineering, 2011
To get the spectra of laser acoustic signal (LAS) in water induced by CO2 laser pulse, and the relation to the parameters of laser pulse (LP). A peak-tail approximation of the actual CO2 LP is used to get the theoretical thermoelastic LAS, after FFT(Fast Fourier Transformation), the affection of the waveform parameters to the LAS spectra is given.
