Stimulated brillouin scattering with zero acoustic loss
Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata, 1986The stationary regime of the stimulated Brillouin scattering with zero acoustic loss is studied on a 1-dimensional model. The dependence of the solution set on the input laser intensity is investigated. Bifurcation properties of such a dependence are demonstrated.

On acoustic stimulation of atmospheric precipitation
Technical Physics, 2005Stimulation of atmospheric precipitation by acoustic waves is considered. The interaction of acoustic waves with fog particles and the acoustic coagulation phenomenon are analyzed. It is proposed that the effect of amplification of sound in a weakly ionized gas be used to prevent sound decay away from the source in a foggy environment.

Stimulator for Complex Acoustic Waveforms
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1964An audio-tone-burst stimulator has been designed that employs a Hall-effect multiplier. This instrument produces modulation of the audio tone(s) by the desired envelope signal. An envelope-waveform generator is used that can deliver to the modulator a choice of either a Gaussian pulse, a triangle, trapezoid, or trapezoidal pulse with Gaussian leading ...

Relationship of acoustic stimulation and tinnitus suppression by electrical stimulation
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1984Electrical stimulation of the auditory system results in auditory perception as well as auditory suppression. Historically, this is well documented. The recent application of advances of high technology and microsurgery of the ear have allowed basic science and clinical investigation to have access to electrical stimulation of the auditory system and ...

Electro-acoustic stimulation. Acoustic and electric pitch comparisons.
Audiology & neuro-otology, 2009For simultaneous acoustic and electric stimulation to be perceived as complementary, it may be beneficial for hearing aids and cochlear implants (CI) to be adjusted to provide compatible pitch sensations. To this end, estimates of the pitch perceived for a set of acoustic and electric stimuli were obtained from 14 CI users who had usable low-frequency ...
