Application of Acoustic Waves for Reservoir Stimulation
International Oil Conference and Exhibition in Mexico, 2007Abstract Research related to weak elastic wave stimulation of oil reservoirs started in the late 1950's. Activity peaked in the 1970's and 1980's in the US and in the Soviet Union. However in recent years there has been a resurgent interest and research.

A new approach to electric-acoustic stimulation
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2008When low-frequency acoustic stimulation is combined with either real or simulated electric stimulation from a cochlear implant (electric-acoustic stimulation, or EAS), speech intelligibility in noise can improve dramatically. This improvement has been shown in simulation to be due in part to the presence of fundamental frequency (F0) and amplitude ...

Relationship of acoustic stimulation and tinnitus suppression by electrical stimulation
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1984Electrical stimulation of the auditory system results in auditory perception as well as auditory suppression. Historically, this is well documented. The recent application of advances of high technology and microsurgery of the ear have allowed basic science and clinical investigation to have access to electrical stimulation of the auditory system and ...

Experiments on Acoustic-Stimulated Eye Movements
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1971Performing 239 electronystagmographic recordings with rotating acoustical stimulation in persons with normal hearing and in deaf persons, we found the following. (1) There are large sinus-like eye deviations and a series of direction-changing beats, produced by following the acoustic stimuli with closed eyes.

A note on stimulated emission of acoustic power
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1973The notion of stimulated emission of acoustic power is introduced. Its occurence is illustrated by analysinf the poer radiated from a vibrating flat plate. Finally, it is shown that stimulated emision from a vibrating sphere can be utilized as a means of producing narrow band amplification of acoustic signals.
