Active acoustic treatment

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2011
We call building materials “acoustic treatment” when they change the response of a room to sounds that occur in it. Absorption reduces the reverberation time of a room as well as strength. Reverberant chambers increase the cubic volume of the room and increase the reverberation time without significantly changing the strength.

On the surgical treatment of bilateral acoustic neurinomas

Acta Neurochirurgica, 1964
The frequency of bilateral acoustic tumours is about 2.5% of all acoustic neurinomas. In different series in the literature and in our personal material we found altogether 25 examples of such bilateral lesions; 15 of them presented signs of von Recklinghausen's disease.

History of the Diagnosis and Treatment of Acoustic Neuroma

Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1968
THE DEVELOPMENT of acoustic neuroma diagnosis and surgery is one of the most fascinating sagas of medical history. This story will be traced from the first recorded postmortem description of these tumors until the present time. What Acoustical Treatment Will and Will Not Do

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1940
It is sometimes found that acoustical materials, installed for the purpose of correcting auditorium acoustics or quieting noise, produce results which either exceed or fall short of expectations. A number of typical examples are described and explained in terms of the physical and psychological factors involved.

Acoustic Treatment of Crude Petroleum

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1954
An experimental program was undertaken to determine the effect of ultrasonic vibrations in connection with the dehydration of crude petroleum. Experiments are described which provide evidence that water is present in crude petroleum both in the free state and as water vapor.
