Acoustic Surface Wave Filters

1970 Ultrasonics Symposium, 1970
Acoustic surface waves offer several advantages in the construction of delay lines and filters in the UHF range. In these devices the frequency response is determined by the finger spacing and overlap of the interdigital comb structures used as input and output transducers.

Dust acoustic shock waves

Physical Review E, 2004
It is shown that nonlinear equations governing the dynamics of large amplitude nondispersive dust acoustic waves admit nonstationary dust acoustic shock waves. Analytical and numerical results for the latter are presented, and the relevance of our investigation to laboratory experiments is discussed.

Diffusing acoustic wave spectroscopy

Physical Review E, 2002
We have developed a technique in ultrasonic correlation spectroscopy called diffusing acoustic wave spectroscopy (DAWS). In this technique, the motion of the scatterers (e.g., particles or inclusions) is determined from the temporal fluctuations of multiply scattered sound.

Redshift of acoustic waves in acoustic streaming

Physical Review E, 2003
Redshift, namely, the frequency decline in the frequency spectrum of an acoustic wave in water, was observed by measuring the frequency spectrum of acoustic streaming in a standing wave field. We desire that relations of the energy epsilon and momentum mu of acoustic waves analogous to those under quantum conditions hold, that is, epsilon =n(p)h(omega),

Acoustic Waves

1992
Abstract Synopsis. Acoustic waves will propagate in any medium that possesses some form of elasticity. In solids, which have both a bulk modulus (the reciprocal of the compressibility) and a shear modulus (or rigidity) wave propagation is complex, involving both longitudinal and transverse waves.

Localization of acoustic waves

Physical Review B, 1985
The localization of sound waves moving in a random array of hard scatterers is studied for both two- and three-dimensional systems using a diagrammatic technique. For d=2 acoustic waves are found to be localized for all frequencies with the localization length growing exponentially for both high and low frequencies.

GRAVITY AND ACOUSTICAL WAVES

Canadian Journal of Physics, 1962
The spectrum of the gravity and acoustical waves are discussed for two general types of models of the atmosphere. The main emphasis is placed upon the discrete set of modes which are important in the propagation of energy, long distances around the earth, from large explosions in the atmosphere.

Surface acoustic wave element, surface acoustic wave device, surface acoustic wave duplexer, and method of manufacturing surface acoustic wave element

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2007
A surface acoustic wave element includes a thin film electrode composed of monocrystal aluminum disposed on a piezoelectric substrate. At least one metal of Cu, Ta, W, and Ti is segregated in the thin film electrode composed of monocrystal aluminum. In this surface acoustic wave element, segregation of Cu or the like occurs in the thin film electrode ...

Acoustic wave device

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2005
An acoustic wave device including an electrical element disposable on an outer contour of a support of an acoustic wave transducer, the outer contour having a non-cylindrical and non-flat shape, the electrical element being areally configured on the outer contour for radiating acoustic waves outwardly from the outer contour.

Acoustical wave aimer

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1987
The invention is an improvement to the linear array transducer and the annular array transducer. The improvement lies in the invention's capability to produce a phase shifted wave across each segment of the composite transducer and in so doing, better match the ideal phase shift for aiming or focussing acoustic waves.
