Terrestrial Ecosystem Response to Changing Temperature and Seasonality in the Paleocene‐Eocene Thermal Maximum: Shallow Marine Records From the Salisbury Embayment, USA

open access: yesPaleoceanography and Paleoclimatology, Volume 41, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract The Paleocene‐Eocene thermal maximum (PETM, ∼56 Ma) is marked by a massive and rapid rise in atmospheric CO2 and ∼5°C of global warming. It is globally characterized by a negative carbon isotope excursion (CIE), and, at least locally, is preceded by a pre‐onset excursion (POE).

The interpretation of Ordovician, Silurian and Devonian paleoenvironments utilizing the distribution of acritarch associations and organic palynofacies

open access: yes, 1992
Paleozoic acritarch and marine phytoplankton associations clearly interpret paleoenvironments within marine shelf and oceanic depositional areas. Marginal marine sediments are characterized by low diversity acritarch assemblages, while shelf areas ...

A Mineralized Alga and Acritarch Dominated Microbiota from the Tully Formation (Givetian) of Pennsylvania, USA

open access: yesGeosciences, 2016
Sphaeromorphic algal cysts, most probably of the prasinophyte Tasmanites, and acanthomorphic acritarch vesicles, most probably Solisphaeridium, occur in a single 20 cm thick bed of micritic limestone in the lower part of the Middle Devonian (Givetian ...

Sedimentary records of palaeohydrological variability during the Late Holocene in the Lower Narmada Basin, western India

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 1, February 2026.
Late Holocene palaeohydrological changes in the lower Narmada Basin, India, revealed using multiproxy analyses of the Orsang River terrace sediments. Distinct depositional phases corresponding to global climatic events were recorded. High‐magnitude floods in the Narmada River during the MWP, and within the tributary Orsang River during DACP and LIA ...

Middle Devonian acritarch biostratigraphy of North America

open access: yes, 1984
. The known stratigraphic ranges of 66 acritarch species from eight independently dated Middle Devonian sections in North America are plotted. Twenty seven species are restricted to the Middle Devonian in North America, yet only 12 species occur in more ...

Correlation and biostratigraphy of the Kortrijk (Sint-Antonius) and Kortrijk (Lust) boreholes (early Silurian, Belgium)

open access: yesCarnets de Géologie, 2005
Since their drilling, respectively in 1961 and 1971, the 83W421 Kortrijk (Sint-Antonius) and 83W44 Kortrijk (Lust brewery) boreholes have been studied rather extensively for biostratigraphical information.

Linking palaeo‐wildfire to depositional environmental and ecological dynamics of an Early–Middle Pennsylvanian fluvial‐tidal transition zone—Palynology and pyrolysis evidence

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 1, February 2026.
The Pennsylvanian landscape in the Forest City basin was characterised by low‐lying lycopod tree and fern swamp forests with persistently high groundwater tables and adjacent fluvial channel, floodplain and upland environments. The occurrence of abundant charcoal within a specific thin interval in the Cherokee Group indicates substantial wildfire ...

Fluid Inclusion Stratigraphy and Multistage Hydrocarbon Evolution in the Risha Gas Field, Jordan

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
An integrated fluid inclusion stratigraphy (FIS) and petrographic analysis of the RH‐3 well in the Risha Gas Field, Jordan, reveals a highly compartmentalized vertical fluid column. The upper section (1200–1750 m) is dominated by wet‐gas to gas‐condensate fluids, transitioning to dry gas below 1850 m.

Acritarcos e Prasinófitas do Siluriano da Bacia do Amazonas: um Poderoso Auxílio na Calibração Bioestratigráfica do Grupo Trombetas [PDF]

open access: yesAnuário do Instituto de Geociências, 2005
This paper deals with borehole data from 1.587,80-1.660,75 m interval of the well 1-AM-1-AM, which represents the most complete section of the Silurian in Amazon basin.
