Dinoflagellate cysts and acritarchs from the Miocene Zonderschot sands, Northern Belgium: stratigraphic significance and correlation with contiguous areas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
A palynological investigation of the Miocene Zonderschot Sands (Berchem Formation) from the type locality Zonderschot (northern Belgium) has revealed the presence of a diverse dinoflagellate cyst and acritarch association.

Neoproterozoic Microfossils from the Margin of the East European Platform and the Search for a Biostratigraphic Model of Lower Ediacaran Rocks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A ca. 600 m thick siliciclastic succession in northern Russia contains abundant and diverse microfossils that document early to middle Ediacaran deposition along the northeastern margin of the East European Platform.

Correlation of the 83w421 Kortrijk (Sint-Antonius) and 83w44 Kortrijk (Lust) boreholes with acritarchs (late Aeronian-early Telychian, Silurian, Belgium) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
25 samples from the 83W421 Kortrijk (Sint-Antonius) and 83W44 Kortrijk (Lust) boreholes are investigated. Acritarchs provide a more reliable and precise correlation of these two boreholes than graptolites and chitinozoans because of large barren and/or ...

Disrupted continental environments around the Devonian-Carboniferous Boundary: introduction of the tener event [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Recent refinements of the palynological stratigraphic scheme around the Devonian-Carboniferous Boundary in southern Belgium result in new questions on the effect of the Hangenberg Biocrisis on spores and on the validity of some ‘biozones ...

Middle Devonian acritarch biostratigraphy of North America [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Micropalaeontology, 1984
Abstract. The known stratigraphic ranges of 66 acritarch species from eight independently dated Middle Devonian sections in North America are plotted. Twenty seven species are restricted to the Middle Devonian in North America, yet only 12 species occur in more than one section. None of these 12 species is, as yet, known to occur outside North America.

The role of marine microphytoplankton in the Ordovician Biodiversification Event

open access: yesCarnets de Géologie, 2005
The Ordovician fossil record provides evidence of the most rapid, long sustained burst of biotic diversification in the history of marine life on Earth (The Great Ordovician Biodiversification Event, Webby et alii, 2004).
