Soil Salinity, Sun Exposure, and Growth of Acrostichum aureum, the Mangrove Fern
Botanical Gazette, 1990Populations of Acrostichum aureum growing under contrasting conditions of soil salinity and sunlight exposure were studied in two sites in the north coast of Puerto Rico. Plant size and density of clumps under full sun exposure are larger in sites with lower soil salinity. In shady habitats with relatively high soil salinity (understory of Laguncularia

Description and genomic characterization of Jiella flava sp. nov., isolated from Acrostichum aureum
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2022Two endophytic bacteria, designated strains CQZ9-1T and MQZ9-1, were isolated from semi-mangrove plant Acrostichum aureum collected from Maowei Sea Mangrove Nature Reserve in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, PR China. The two strains possessed almost identical 16S rRNA gene sequences (99.7 %).

A short-rod-shaped, non-spore-forming endophytic actinobacterium, was isolated from a surface-sterilized leaf of Acrostichum aureum in Fangchenggang, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, designated strain CBS4Y-1T and examined by a polyphasic approach to determine its taxonomic position.

Responses of photosynthesis to NaCl in gametophytes of Acrostichum aureum
Physiologia Plantarum, 1998Gametophytes of Acrostichum aureum were cultured in 0.0 to 1.0% NaCl solutions or in NaCl‐free solution and then transferred to 1.0% NaCl solution. Photosynthetic light‐response curves, efficiency of the primary photochemical reaction, relative electron transport rate, and photochemical and non‐photochemical quenching at steady state were determined by

Allergenic potential of the mangrove fernAcrostichum aureum
Grana, 1987Abstract Different fractions of spores and sporangia of Acrostichum aureum were tested for allergenicity. Both the exine and protoplasm were active and allergenic material was present in both the spores and the sporangial matter.
