Organopolymerization of Acrylic Monomers

2018
Organopolymerization has become a powerful metal-free strategy for synthesis of polymers in the rapidly growing field of organocatalysis. This chapter briefly reviews the most recent developments and advancements achieved in the organopolymerization of polar vinyl monomers. It details the following three parts: group transfer polymerization, Lewis pair

Telomerization of acrylic monomers with iodoform

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1985
Together with dimethylformamide, iron pentacarbonyl initiates the telomerization of acrylonitrile, methyl acrylate, and methyl methacrylate with iodoform, resulting in the formation of telomeric homologs of the series CHI2(CH2CRI)nR′ and CHI2(CH2CHR)nR′ (n=1, 2; R=H, CH3; R′=CN, COOCH3).

Investigation of Fluorinated (Meth)Acrylate Monomers and Macromonomers Suitable for a Hydroxy-Containing Acrylate Monomer in UV Nanoimprinting

Langmuir, 2014
We investigated reactive fluorinated (meth)acrylate monomers and macromonomers that caused segregation at the cured resin surface of a viscous hydroxy-containing monomer, glycerol 1,3-diglycerolate diacrylate (GDD), and decreased the demolding energy in ultraviolet (UV) nanoimprinting with spin-coated films under a condensable alternative ...

Latexes Based on Acrylic Monomers

1981
Acrylic polymers are gaining ever increasing importance in various areas of technology as a result of the universality of their properties. By changing the monomer ratio in copolymerization, it is possible to obtain products having a combination of valuable physicomechanical properties.

Contamination of local anesthetic cartridges with acrylic monomer

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1988
The evidence presented shows that both methyl methacrylate and ethyl methacrylate monomers can diffuse through the rubber bulb of a dropper dispenser-style bottle. Methyl methacrylate is substantially more efficient in this regard than is ethyl methacrylate, which leads to the loss of these products into the environment immediately around the dropper ...

Macroradical initiated polymerisation of acrylic and methacrylic monomers

Journal of Separation Science, 2009
AbstractAn approach has been developed for the grafting of monomers onto poly(trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate) (polyTRIM) particles using 2,2‐diethyl dithiocarbamic acid benzyl ester (DDCABE) as an initiator. A set of polymers was prepared with this technique over different lengths of time and the kinetics of the reaction studied experimentally.

Frontal polymerization of acrylic monomers for the consolidation of stone

Polymers for Advanced Technologies, 2005
AbstractPolymeric products are largely used for consolidation of stone in the field of cultural heritage. Nevertheless, the main problem of polymeric compounds is related to their macromolecular nature, it being difficult for a polymer to penetrate inside the pores which may have a very small diameter.

Contact dermatitis from polyfunctional acrylic monomers*

Contact Dermatitis, 1977
Five out of 26 men employed formulating radiation drying printing ink developed eczematous dermatitis. Positive patch tests were obtained with two polyfunctional acrylic monomers, pentaerythritol triacrylate and trimethylol propane triacrylate and with formulations containing these in four affected employees.
