Residual monomer in acrylic polymers
Biomaterials, 1991Three proprietary dental resins were found to include acrylates (as distinct from methacrylates). As acrylates are well known to have adverse skin reactions, the nature and content of the acrylates were obtained. One resin contained methyl acrylate, and the other two ethyl acrylate.

Regioselective Copolymerization of Acryl Sucrose Monomers
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 20041',2,3,3',4,4',6-Hepta-O-benzyl-sucrose has been prepared and selectively 6'-O-esterified with small alpha,beta-unsaturated acid derivatives. New chiral copolymers containing sucrose have been synthesized by radical polymerization, and some of their physical properties have been determined.

Organopolymerization of Acrylic Monomers
2018Organopolymerization has become a powerful metal-free strategy for synthesis of polymers in the rapidly growing field of organocatalysis. This chapter briefly reviews the most recent developments and advancements achieved in the organopolymerization of polar vinyl monomers. It details the following three parts: group transfer polymerization, Lewis pair

A systematic study on the effect of molecular structure on the photoinitiated polymerization of acrylates was undertaken. Initially, the research was focused on the effect of hydrogen bonding, and it was found that preorganization via hydrogen bonding enhances the maximum rate of polymerization (Rp).

Telomerization of acrylic monomers with iodoform
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1985Together with dimethylformamide, iron pentacarbonyl initiates the telomerization of acrylonitrile, methyl acrylate, and methyl methacrylate with iodoform, resulting in the formation of telomeric homologs of the series CHI2(CH2CRI)nR′ and CHI2(CH2CHR)nR′ (n=1, 2; R=H, CH3; R′=CN, COOCH3).

We investigated reactive fluorinated (meth)acrylate monomers and macromonomers that caused segregation at the cured resin surface of a viscous hydroxy-containing monomer, glycerol 1,3-diglycerolate diacrylate (GDD), and decreased the demolding energy in ultraviolet (UV) nanoimprinting with spin-coated films under a condensable alternative ...

Frontal polymerization of acrylic monomers for the consolidation of stone
Polymers for Advanced Technologies, 2005AbstractPolymeric products are largely used for consolidation of stone in the field of cultural heritage. Nevertheless, the main problem of polymeric compounds is related to their macromolecular nature, it being difficult for a polymer to penetrate inside the pores which may have a very small diameter.

Contamination of local anesthetic cartridges with acrylic monomer
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1988The evidence presented shows that both methyl methacrylate and ethyl methacrylate monomers can diffuse through the rubber bulb of a dropper dispenser-style bottle. Methyl methacrylate is substantially more efficient in this regard than is ethyl methacrylate, which leads to the loss of these products into the environment immediately around the dropper ...
