One-step and in-situ catalytic synthesis of acrylates from acetates (or propionates) and trioxane at room temperature

open access: yesJournal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, 2017
One-step synthesis of acrylates from acetates and trioxane via aldol reaction at 623 K-653 K was reported. But proceeding this process at room temperature is still a challenge due to ester activation and trioxane decomposition.

Dermal oncogenicity bioassays of acrylic acid, ethyl acrylate, and butyl acrylate

Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, 1984
Male C3H/HeJ mice (40 per group) were treated with 25-microliter applications of undiluted ethyl acrylate, 1% acrylic acid, or 1% butyl acrylate on the dorsal skin 3 times weekly for their lifetime. A negative control group received acetone (diluent) only, and a positive control group received 0.1% 3-methylcholanthrene (MC).

Acrylate-Selective Transesterification of Methacrylate/Acrylate Copolymers: Postfunctionalization with Common Acrylates and Alcohols

ACS Macro Letters, 2018
Acrylate-selective transesterification of methacrylate/acrylate copolymers with alcohols was developed for a site-selective postfunctionalization technique of polymers without using specific monomers. Importantly, a common methyl acrylate efficiently works as a selective modification unit via transesterification coupled with a titanium alkoxide ...

Thermal degradation of butyl acrylate-methyl acrylate-acrylic acid-copolymers

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2008
The thermal degradation of copolymers based on butyl acrylate-methyl acrylate-acrylic acid used as acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives, especially for bonding of plasticizer containing materials, has been investigated using thermogravimetry and pyrolysis-gas chromatography at 250°C.

Synthesis and photopolymerization of acrylic acrylate copolymers

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2002
AbstractAcrylate‐functionalized copolymers were synthesized by the modification of poly(butyl acrylate‐co‐glycidyl methacrylate) (BA/GMA) and poly(butyl acrylate‐co‐methyl methacrylate‐co‐glycidyl methacrylate). 13C‐NMR analyses showed that no glycidyl methacrylate block longer than three monomer units was formed in the BA/GMA copolymer if the glycidyl

Comparative analysis of skin sensitization potency of acrylates (methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, and ethylhexyl acrylate) using the local lymph node assay

Contact Dermatitis, 2007
There are currently available no systematic experimental data on the skin sensitizing properties of acrylates that are of relevance in occupational settings. Limited information from previous guinea‐pig tests or from the local lymph node assay (LLNA) is available; however, these data are incomplete and somewhat contradictory. For those reasons, we have
