Refined Division of Sleep Stages in the Mouse Based on Distributed Deep Electrodes and Underlying Infra‐Slow Oscillation

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The mouse sleep is mostly recorded with only epidural electrodes and divided simply into NREM and REM stages. With the help of distributed intracerebral triplet electrodes, we searched for possible new electrophysiological signatures to characterise more specific sleep substages within the timeframe of seconds to tens of minutes.

Nanoparticle-functionalized acrylic bone cement for local therapeutic delivery to spine metastases [PDF]

open access: yesExploration of BioMat-X
Aim: Polymethylmethacrylate bone cement is often used to reconstruct critical-sized defects generated by the surgical resection of spinal metastases. Residual tumor cells after a resection can drive recurrence and destabilization.

Biocompatibility of alendronate-loaded acrylic cement for vertebroplasty [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Cells & Materials, 2010
This paper reports a biological evaluation of a non-resorbable acrylic cement loaded with alendronate for the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. The cement formulation was based on polymethyl methacrylate and acrylic monomers; one

The oral microbiota and periodontal health in orthodontic patients

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract The oral microbiota develops within the first 2 years of childhood and becomes distinct from the parents by 4 years‐of‐age. The oral microbiota plays an important role in the overall health/symbiosis of the individual. Deviations from the state of symbiosis leads to dysbiosis and an increased risk of pathogenicity.

Marginal bone loss around implants – What does it mean?

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Changes in peri‐implant marginal bone levels (MBL) constitute a central outcome in studies on implant therapy and reflect the integrity of the supporting tissues over time. Aim To summarize current evidence on MBL changes around dental implants, with emphasis on temporal patterns, methods of assessment and their clinical ...

New radiopaque acrylic bone cement. II. Acrylic bone cement with bromine-containing monomer

open access: yesJournal of Materials Science: Materials in Medicine, 2008
Bromine-containing methacrylate, 2-(2-bromopropionyloxy) ethyl methacrylate (BPEM), had been used in the formulation of acrylic radiopaque cements. The effect of this monomer incorporated into the liquid phase of acrylic bone cement, on the curing parameters, thermal properties, water absorption, density, compression tests and radiopacity was studied ...

Modelling and simulation of acrylic bone cement injection and curing within the framework of vertebroplasty [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The minimal invasive procedure of vertebroplasty is a surgical technique to treat compression fractures of vertebral bodies. During the treatment, liquid bone cement gets injected into the affected vertebral body and therein cures to a solid. In order to

Implant therapy in older patients: Prosthetic considerations and biomechanical implications for frailty/aging

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Population aging is reshaping prosthodontic care for both partially and completely edentulous individuals. In older adults, conditions such as frailty, comorbidities, polypharmacy, and cognitive decline can have a direct impact on the biological and biomechanical demands of implant therapy, thereby influencing the success of implant

Effect of Crown Design, Cement Type and Margin Depth on the Removal of Cement Remnants Around Single Implant‐Supported Restorations. An In‐Vitro Study

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, Volume 37, Issue 7, Page 856-866, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives To assess the influence of crown design, cement type, and margin depth on the removal efficiency of residual cement around single implant‐supported restorations. Methods Twelve mandibular models with a missing first molar were fabricated and provided with single implant analogs (centrally/distally placed) and two different crown ...

The Effect of Crown Height and Retentive Height of Abutment on the Fracture Resistance of Fatigued Monolithic Zirconia Anterior Implant Crowns—An In Vitro Study

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, Volume 37, Issue 7, Page 867-882, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives This laboratory study investigated the effect of two different retentive heights of Ti‐base abutments (3.5 and 5.5 mm) and crown heights (13 and 16 mm) on the load at failure and survival of monolithic zirconia implant‐supported crowns replacing a maxillary central incisor.
