Characterization of cyantraniliprole resistance in Spodoptera frugiperda: Selection, inheritance pattern, and cross‐resistance to other diamide insecticides

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
A cyantraniliprole‐resistant strain of Spodoptera frugiperda with I4790K mutation exhibited a resistance ratio of 3414‐fold and high cross‐resistance to other diamide insecticides. Abstract BACKGROUND Cyantraniliprole, a diamide insecticide, is widely used in Brazil to control sucking and defoliating pests, including the fall armyworm (Spodoptera ...

Enhanced Laser‐Induced Graphene Microfluidic Integrated Sensors (LIGMIS) for On‐Site Biomedical and Environmental Monitoring

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A laser‐induced graphene microfluidic with integrated sensors (LIGMIS) are demonstrated for practical use in agricultural and biomedical domains. The porous electrodes are modified with silver nanoplatelets and gold microstructured trees for increased electroactive surface area while ion electrodes are modified with solid‐contact membranes for analyte ...

Novabeads: Stimuli‐Responsive Signal‐Amplifying Hydrogel Microparticles for Enzymeless Fluorescence‐Based Detection of microRNA Biomarkers

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Stimuli‐responsive graphically‐encoded hydrogel microparticles, termed Novabeads, achieve rapid, enzyme‐free, multiplexed detection of biomarkers at picomolar sensitivity (LOD = 28.8 pM). Leveraging pH‐responsive signal amplification and dense bioreceptor immobilization, Novabeads yield a 35‐fold fluorescence enhancement over standard hydrogel ...

Immobilization of Enzyme–Polymer Hybrids and Nanozymes Through Electrostatic Interactions: Toward Multicatalytic Microreactors with Controlled Nanoarchitecture

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
A modular hybrid membrane is constructed via a layer‐by‐layer strategy, integrating glucose oxidase/horseradish peroxidase or glucose oxidase/nanozyme‐loaded microreactors within alternating polyelectrolyte layers on a calcium carbonate core. This hierarchical design enables precise spatial confinement of catalytic units, facilitating efficient cascade

3D Printed Spectroelectrochemical Platform for Redox‐Based Bioelectronics

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
It is believed that there are great advancements that can be developed if there are better and simpler means to interrogate the redox behaviors. That is, redox provides a means for enabling bidirectional information flow between biological systems and electronic devices.

Tethered Catalytic Hairpin Assembly with Plasmon‐Enhanced Fluorescence Readout for Single Molecule Detection

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
This work presents a single‐molecule detection platform that does not rely on the partitioning of analyzed liquid samples and on enzymatic amplification of fluorescence signals. A flexible polymer linker serves to spatially confine catalytic‐harpin assembly‐based DNA amplification.
