Probing Viscoelasticity of Polymeric Coatings Using Nonlinear Dynamic Atomic Force Microscopy

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
For soft materials it is essential to characterize both the elastic and viscous material properties. Using an atomic force microscope, the hardening nonlinearity induced by a tip‐sample contact and bifurcation points can be used to separately estimate the visco‐ and elastic parts of the tip‐sample interaction force.

Gas check prevention during calendering of poly(vinyl chloride) films using poly(caprolactone)‐based additives

open access: yesJournal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, Volume 31, Issue 2, Page 441-452, March 2025.
Three poly(caprolactone) (PCL)‐based additives of differing molecular weights were used as a secondary plasticizer to prevent gas checks in PVC films produced through calendering. Results showed that chemical and physicochemical properties influence the prevention or reduction of gas checks, unlike rheological properties including complex viscosity and

Balanced enhancement of energy storage density and self‐healing property of polypropylene‐based metallised film

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
Abstract Metallised film capacitors (MFC) can operate under much higher voltage compared to the foil capacitor due to their self‐healing (SH) properties, which caters to their application with high energy storage density requirement. Excellent results were achieved on the enhancement of the energy storage density of the dielectric material, whereas the
