Acrylic Resin

1997
Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the various welding techniques associated with a non-absorbing polymer named as acrylic resin. Acrylics can be tacked with the help of ultrasonic mechanism. Continuous bonding is generally unsatisfactory due to embrittlement and low strength.

Novel acrylic resins for dental applications

Biomaterials, 1992
A heat-cured resin based on a copolymer of bis-phenol-A glycidyl methacrylate (bis-GMA) and tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate (THFM) was investigated. Workable pastes were made by adding 90/10 w/w bis-GMA/THFM copolymer powder to a 70/30 w/w monomer of the same composition. The organic filler content was 60-64% w/w.

Coatings update: acrylic resins

Pigment & Resin Technology, 1983
Acrylic resins are formulated into protective coatings in several ways. Most important volumewise are waterborne formulations based either on pure acrylics or on acrylic‐vinyl copolymers. Second most important are solvent‐based enamels and lacquers widely used for product finishes particularly in the automotive and appliance industries.

Emergency acrylic resin crown

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1964
Abstract A stock resin tooth has many advantages over a temporary crown constructed entirely of activated acrylic resin. Since the stock tooth is commercially manufactured and expertly processed, a fine surface glaze and excellent incisal and body color can be obtained.

LR White Acrylic Resin

2015
LR White resin is a versatile embedding medium suitable for use in both light and electron microscopy. This embedding medium has a low viscosity, can readily penetrate into dense tissues, and can be polymerized at low and high temperatures using appropriate chemical accelerators and catalysts.
