Is actinic granuloma a specific condition?
The American Journal of dermatopathology, 1980Evidence is presented that actinic granuloma is not a specific connective tissue disorder as it is thought to be by O'Brien. Granulomatous inflammation does not result simply from a response to elastotic fibers, but is a consequence of primary pathologic processes that are unrelated to damaged elastotic material.

O'Brien's actinic granuloma: response to isotretinoin.
Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, 1995We describe a 75-year-old man demonstrating the florid clinical features of actinic granuloma of O'Brien. This rare disfiguring condition is believed to result from a granulomatous reaction of the dermis to solar-induced elastosis and is poorly responsive to topical steroids.
