Twelve‐valence‐electron transition metal dimers MM', like diatomic Mo2, can have nearly sixfold bonds. Values of r6$r_6$ for over 20 elements from Sc to Pu are proposed. ABSTRACT A set of additive covalent radii is fitted to a combination of experimental data, accurate ab initio computations, and more approximate DFT MM' bond lengths, R$R$, with 12 ...

Octupole deformation properties of actinide isotopes within a mean field approach
We discuss the octupole deformation properties of many even-even actinide isotopes. The analysis is carried out in the mean field framework (Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approximation) by using the axially symmetric octupole moment as a constraint.

An dynamical-mean-field-theory investigation of specific heat and electronic structure of $\alpha$ and $\delta$-plutonium [PDF]
We have carried out a comparative study of the electronic specific heat and electronic structure of $\alpha$ and $\delta$-plutonium using dynmical mean field theory (DMFT).

Unexpected Products Isolated From Neptunium Halide Syntheses
Unanticipated products can crystallize when doing ligand substitution chemistry of NpCl4(DME)2 (DME = 1,2‐dimethoxyethane). Dissolution of NpCl4(DME)2 in CDCl3 can recrystallize the dimer [NpCl3(μ‐Cl)(DME)]2. The presence of hydroxylammonium from oxidation state adjustment can result in the isolation of (NH3OH)2[NpCl6]•3(1,4‐dioxane). The contamination

Yields of rare earth element isotopes in the fission of actinide nuclei [PDF]
The paper presents the results of studying the yields of rare earth element (REE) isotopes in the fission of heavy, particularly actinide, nuclei. Mass spectra of REE isotopes (samarium, dysprosium, holmium, ytterbium) were obtained for various fission ...

ABSTRACT The fractionation of milligram quantities of gadolinium (Gd) and terbium (Tb) ions is demonstrated using annular free‐flow isotachophoresis (ITP) with ammonium as the leading ion and hydronium as the terminating ion, and α‐hydroxyisobutyric acid (HIBA) and acetate as lanthanide complexing ligands.

Acid Resistant and Highly Silver Selective Membranes Based on Charged Nanoporous 2D‐Materials
In this work, new membranes based on charged & nanoporous nanosheets with unprecedented selectivity to silver versus a wide range of other metallic ions are reported. Furthermore, a demonstrated and lead specific intralamellar lead pathway is demonstrated. A potential applicability for ubiquitous silver in WEEE is validated.

Unusually low metal–ligand bond orders are observed in high spin iron(II) pnictogenidene (PH2– and AsH2–) complexes. Electronic structure analysis provides evidence for multiconfigurational character that attenuates the metal–ligand multiple bond character normally that is typically associated with pnictogenidene ligands. These complexes can be used to
