Actinomyces radicidentis and Actinomyces haliotis, coccoid Actinomyces species isolated from the human oral cavity

Anaerobe, 2017
There are few reports on the bacterial species Actinomyces radicidentis in the literature. In this study, putative A. radicidentis isolates were collected from 16 root canal samples from 601 examined patients. The isolates were examined by biochemical tests, 16S rRNA gene sequencing, Arbitrarily-primed (AP-) PCR, antibiotic susceptibility testing, and ...

INFECTION OF WOUNDS WITH ACTINOMYCES

The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. British volume, 1951
1. Six cases of infection of wounds with actinomyces are described alld tile cultural characteristics of tile organisms are discussed. 2. In three patients the infecting organism was an unusual aerobic form. 3. Possible sources of infection are considered. 4. The chronicity of the condition and the difficulty in treatment are stressed.

Pulmonary actinomyces in a child

Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health, 1985
Abstract Pulmonary actinomycosis is rare in Australian children. A patient with the condition is described in whom a diagnosis was made by open lung biopsy. She was treated successfully with penicillin and tetracycline.

ACTINOMYCES

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1942
Streptothrix has frequently been found in the canaliculus (Morax1and others), but its occurrence in other parts of the conjunctival sac has less commonly been observed. When present it usually produces granulomatous nodules on the bulbar conjunctiva (de Walsche,2Denti3and Liegard4) or on the retrotarsal folds (Bakly5).

A Comparison of Strains of Bacteria Designated Actinomyces viscosus and Actinomyces naeslundii

Caries Research, 1978
The similarity between A. viscosus serotype II and A. naeslundii has been noted by several workers.

Differentiation of Actinomyces propionicus from Actinomyces israelii and Actinomyces naeslundii by gas chromatography

Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1968
Gas–liquid chromatography (g.l.c.) was used for the analysis of certain metabolic end products of Actinomyces propionicus, as an aid in the separation of this organism from the morphologically similar Actinomyces species, A. israelii and A. naeslundii. Profiles of the chromatograms for the major volatile acids of five strains of A. propionicus studied

Distribution of Antigenic Determinants Between Actinomyces viscosus and Actinomyces naeslundii

Journal of Dental Research, 1988
A total of 18 monoclonal antibodies was raised against whole cells of Actinomyces viscosus and Actinomyces naeslundii. The monoclonal antibodies were used to determine the cross-reacting patterns among 26 strains of these species. Eleven different antigenic determinants were found.

Comparative histopathology of lesions produced by Actinomyces israelii, Actinomyces naeslundii, and Actinomyces viscosus in mice.

The American journal of pathology, 1983
The histopathologic features of experimental actinomycotic lesions produced in mice by Actinomyces israelii, Actinomyces naeslundii, and Actinomyces viscosus were examined. In lesions caused by A israelii the outer edge of the bacterial granule exhibited an eosinophilic fringe with no evidence of penetration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) into ...
