Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Technique in Detection of Actinomyces SPP by Using Cervico-Vaginal Fluid Samples

open access: yesGynecology Obstetrics & Reproductive Medicine, 2011
OBJECTIVE: To detect the most common Actinomyces species correctly in cervico-vaginal fluid samples by using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique. STUDY DESIGN: Cervico-vaginal fluid samples were obtained from 200 patients and bacterial genomic DNA ...

Ectomycorrhizal fungi significantly shape endorhizal bacteria associated with Pinus taiwanensis in heavy metal soils

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 16, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract The understanding of ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi's role in shaping bacterial groups and regulating heavy metals in soils was limited in the past. A mesocosm experiment with inoculation treatments (Pezicula ericae K2 and Pisolithus tinctorius) was applied to Pinus taiwanensis. The study aimed to explore the impact of ECM fungi, specifically, P.

Alcohol‐Related Liver Disease and Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease: Molecular Pathogenesis and Therapeutic Interventions

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2025.
Alcohol‐related (ALD) and metabolic dysfunction‐associated (MASLD) steatotic liver disease, while initiated by distinct etiologies (ethanol vs. metabolic stress), converge on shared core pathogenic pathways that drive progression. These include dysregulated lipid metabolism, programmed cell death, cellular senescence, gut dysbiosis, and immune ...

Taxonomy of the Genus Frankia (Actinomycetales) [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic Bacteriology, 1994
Members of the genus Frankia have been classified in the order Actinomycetales on the basis of morphology, cell chemistry, and 16S rRNA sequences and catalogs. This genus, which is presently defined by morphology, cell chemistry, the ability to fix nitrogen, and infectivity for and ability to enter into symbiotic relationships with certain plant hosts,

Development of microbial community in the course of composting of garden waste

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2012
Composting represents one of the technologies of processing of biodegradable municipal waste. Samples collected from composting plants were analyzed chemically, physically and microbiologically. The pH of bio waste samples increased from 6.5 to 8.6.

Salix purpurea Stimulates the Expression of Specific Bacterial Xenobiotic Degradation Genes in a Soil Contaminated with Hydrocarbons.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The objectives of this study were to uncover Salix purpurea-microbe xenobiotic degradation systems that could be harnessed in rhizoremediation, and to identify microorganisms that are likely involved in these partnerships. To do so, we tested S. purpurea'

Novel Chromosome Organization Pattern in Actinomycetales—Overlapping Replication Cycles Combined with Diploidy

open access: yesmBio, 2017
Bacteria regulate chromosome replication and segregation tightly with cell division to ensure faithful segregation of DNA to daughter generations. The underlying mechanisms have been addressed in several model species.

Genome sequencing and description of Oerskovia enterophila VJag, an agar- and cellulose-degrading bacterium

open access: yesStandards in Genomic Sciences, 2017
A nonmotile, Gram-positive bacterium that shows an elongated and branching cell shape was isolated from soil samples from the botanical garden of Ulm University, Ulm, Germany. Here, the isolation procedure, identification, genome sequencing and metabolic

Actinokineospora: A new genus of the Actinomycetales.

open access: yesActinomycetologica, 1988
A new genus Actinokineospora is described. It is characterized by forming chains of zoospores originating from aerial mycelium, and has type IV/A cell walls and a type PII phospholipids pattern. The major menaquinone is MK-10. No mycolic acids are present. The guanine-plus-cytosine content of the deoxyribonucleic acid is 72.0 mol%. The type strain of A.

Biosynthesis of Ergothioneine and Hercynine by Fungi and Actinomycetales [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1970
Unlike other bacteria, aerobic members of the order Actinomycetales show a close biochemical relationship to the fungi by their capacity to synthesize hercynine and ergothioneine. The myxomycete Physarum polycephalum , possessing the same synthetic ability, also shows this relationship ...
