Linear Quadratic Games with Costly Measurements
In this work we consider a stochastic linear quadratic two-player game. The state measurements are observed through a switched noiseless communication link. Each player incurs a finite cost every time the link is established to get measurements.

Controlling attention through action: Observing actions primes action-related stimulus dimensions [PDF]
Previous findings suggest that planning an action "backward-primes" perceptual dimension related to this action: planning a grasp facilitates the processing of visual size information, while planning a reach facilitates the processing of location information.

ABSTRACT Bone tumours present significant challenges for affected patients, as multimodal therapy often leads to prolonged physical limitations. This is particularly critical during childhood and adolescence, as it can negatively impact physiological development and psychosocial resilience.

Action control in visual neglect
Patients with unilateral neglect show a variety of impairments when reaching towards objects in contralesional space. The basis of these deficits could be perceptual, motor or at one of the intermediate stages linking these processes. Here, we review studies of visually guided reaching in neglect and integrate these results with findings from normal ...

ABSTRACT Background The delipid extracorporeal lipoprotein filter from plasma (DELP) treatment can effectively reduce blood lipid, increase blood flow, and improve neurological deficits in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). However, its effect on vision and retinal microcirculation in stroke patients has never been reported.

Autoinhibitory Feedback Control over Photodynamic Action [PDF]
In biology, the activity of enzymes is usually regulated by feedback loops, which enables direct communication between enzymes and the state of the cell. In a similar manner, with the intention to have automated activity regulation, the therapeutic effect of a photosensitizer (BOD1) is shown to be reduced through a negative feedback loop initiated by ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Energy Scaling with Control Distance in Complex Networks
It has recently been shown that the expected energy requirements of a control action applied to a complex network scales exponentially with the number of nodes that are targeted.
