Optimizing the Chiral Properties of Lattice Fermion Actions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1998
We describe a way to optimize the chiral behavior of Wilson-type lattice fermion actions by studying the low energy real eigenmodes of the Dirac operator. We find a candidate action, the clover action with fat links with a tuned clover term. We present a calculation of spectroscopy and matrix elements at Wilson gauge coupling $\beta=5.7$.

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Induced Rigid String Action From Fermions [PDF]

open access: yesLett.Math.Phys. 48 (1999) 243-250, 1998
From the Dirac action on the world sheet, an effective action is obtained by integrating over the 4-dimensional fermion fields pulled back to the world sheet. This action consists of the Nambu-Goto area term with right dimensionful constant in front, extrinsic curvature action and the topological Euler characteristic term.

Least Action Principle in Physics

open access: yes, 2018
We learn physics by starting it from classical problem, where Newton's laws govern the classical physics. In high school or often in early physics in undergraduate, we still solve classic problem with newton's equation of motion. In this article, I will show that there's more alternative way to see classical problem instead seeing from Newton's law ...

Analog gravity from field theory normal modes?

open access: yes, 2001
We demonstrate that the emergence of a curved spacetime ``effective Lorentzian geometry'' is a common and generic result of linearizing a field theory around some non-trivial background. This investigation is motivated by considering the large number of `

Possible role of human ribonuclease dicer in the regulation of R loops

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
R loops play an important role in regulating key cellular processes such as replication, transcription, centromere stabilization, or control of telomere length. However, the unscheduled accumulation of R loops can cause many diseases, including cancer, and neurodegenerative or inflammatory disorders. Interestingly, accumulating data indicate a possible

BV Yang-Mills as a Homotopy Chern-Simons via SFT

open access: yes, 2009
We show explicitly how BV Yang-Mills action emerges as a homotopy generalization of Chern-Simons theory from the algebraic constructions arising from String Field Theory.Comment: LaTeX2e, 22 pages, minor revisions, typos corrected, references added ...

Matrigel inhibits elongation and drives endoderm differentiation in aggregates of mouse embryonic stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Stem cell‐based embryo models (SCBEMs) are valuable to study early developmental milestones. Matrigel, a basement membrane matrix, is a critical substrate used in various SCBEM protocols, but its role in driving stem cell lineage commitment is not clearly defined.
