Extending Feynman's Formalisms for Modelling Human Joint Action Coordination
The recently developed Life-Space-Foam approach to goal-directed human action deals with individual actor dynamics. This paper applies the model to characterize the dynamics of co-action by two or more actors. This dynamics is modelled by: (i) a two-term

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma patient‐derived xenografts (PDAC‐PDXs) engrafted orthotopically in the pancreas of immunodeficient mice retain the main genetic and histopathological characteristics of the original human tumors. A 294 stroma gene signature differentiates between PDAC‐PDXs that are responsive to gemcitabine plus nab‐paclitaxel versus ...

On the wave function renormalization for Wilson actions and their 1PI actions [PDF]
We clarify the relation between the wave function renormalization for Wilson actions and that for the 1PI actions in the exact renormalization group formalism. Our study depends crucially on the use of two independent cutoff functions for the Wilson actions. We relate our results to those obtained previously by Bervillier, Rosten, and Osborn & Twigg.

Effective action for EPRL/FK spin foam models
We show that a natural modification of the EPRL/FK vertex amplitude gives a finite spin foam model whose effective action gives the Einstein-Hilbert action in the limit of large spins and arbitrarily fine spacetime triangulations. The first-order quantum

Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...

The Gauged Unparticle Action [PDF]
We show that the unparticle action that is made gauge invariant by the inclusion of an open Wilson line factor can be transformed into the integral-differential operator action that avoids the use of the Wilson line factor. The two forms of the action should therefore give the same Feynman diagrams.

PhET Simulations in Undergraduate Physics
Computer simulation educational technologies provide a convenient way of augmenting learning. Simulation technologies have been used and researched in higher education classrooms in fields such as medicine (e.g: Al-Elq, 2010), nursing (Kim, Park & Shin ...

This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

The Gravity of Cartoon Physics; or, Schrödinger’s Coyote
When Wile E. coyote goes off a cliff, instead of falling in a parabolic arc, he comes to a halt in mid-air, hangs there until he realizes that he is no longer on solid ground, then falls. Many critics and, indeed, the creators of the cartoons themselves,
