The ferroelectric Mott-Hubbard phase of organic (TMTTF)2X conductors [PDF]
We present experimental evidences for a ferro-electric transition in the family of quasi one- dimensional conductors (TMTTF)2X. We interpret this new transition in the frame of the combined Mott-Hubbard state taking into account the double action of the ...

Back-propagating action potentials (bAPs) regulate synaptic plasticity by evoking voltage-dependent calcium influx throughout dendrites. Attenuation of bAP amplitude in distal dendritic compartments alters plasticity in a location-specific manner by ...

Plasmodium falciparum gametogenesis essential protein 1 (GEP1) is a transmission‐blocking target
This study shows Plasmodium falciparum GEP1 is vital for activating sexual stages of malarial parasites even independently of a mosquito factor. Knockout parasites completely fail gamete formation even when a phosphodiesterase inhibitor is added. Two single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (V241L and S263P) are found in 12%–20% of field samples.

Abnormal Action Potentials Associated with the Shaker Complex Locus of Drosophila [PDF]
Intracellular recordings of action potentials were made from the cervical giant axon in Shaker (Sh) mutants and normal Drosophila. The mutants showed abnormally long delays in repolarization.

Angiotensin II (AngII), a neuropeptide, interacts with amyloid‐β (Aβ), a key player in Alzheimer's disease. This study reveals that AngII reduces Aβ aggregation and membrane disruption in vitro. Biophysical assays and molecular modeling suggest AngII binds disordered Aβ forms, potentially modulating early amyloidogenic events and contributing to ...

Genetically Encoded Voltage Indicators Are Illuminating Subcellular Physiology of the Axon
Everything we see and do is regulated by electrical signals in our nerves and muscle. Ion channels are crucial for sensing and generating electrical signals.

ActionPytential: An open source tool for analyzing and visualizing cardiac action potential data
The action potential forms the basis of cardiac pacemaking, conduction, and contraction. Action potentials can be recorded from numerous preparation types, including ventricular or atrial trabecules, Purkinje fibers, isolated cardiac myocytes.

Noncommutative fluid dynamics in the K\"{a}hler parametrization
In this paper, we propose a first order action functional for a large class of systems that generalize the relativistic perfect fluids in the K\"{a}hler parametrization to noncommutative spacetimes.

Sampling Properties of the Spectrum and Coherency of Sequences of Action Potentials [PDF]
The spectrum and coherency are useful quantities for characterizing the temporal correlations and functional relations within and between point processes.

Atovaquone is an antimalarial requiring potentiation for sufficient efficacy. We pursued strategies to enhance its activity, showing that 4‐nitrobenzoate inhibits 4‐hydroxybenzoate polyprenyltransferase, decreasing ubiquinone biosynthesis. Since atovaquone competes with ubiquinol in mitochondria, 4‐nitrobenzoate facilitates its action, potentiating ...
