Leucine‐rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) is a ganglioside‐binding protein

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neuronal hyperexcitability associated with a decrease/absence of the extracellular protein LGI1 has been suggested to be primarily due to the downregulation of Kv1 channel expression. The molecular mechanisms underlying this decrease have not yet been elucidated.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Exploring CRISPR-Mediated Activation of Lineage-Specific Genes for Direct Cellular Reprogramming Using RNPs

open access: yes
openDNA- and Virus-free activation of pluripotency networks offers potential for regenerative medicine and cellular engineering. In this study, a ribonucleoprotein (dRNP)-based CRISPR activation (CRISPRa) system was used to transiently upregulate ...

Dioxygen activation and homogeneous catalytic oxidation proceedings of the Fourth International Symposium on Dioxygen Activation and Homogeneous Catalytic Oxidation

open access: yes, 1991
Dioxygen activation is a rapidly developing field in which research is directed at (1) modelling of biological oxidations, (2) design and utilization of new catalysts for oxidative transformations of organic substrates, (3) application of O₂ (and H₂O₂ ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Heterovalent Metal Pair Sites on Metal–Organic Framework Ordered Macropores for Multimolecular Co-Activation

open access: yes
The precise design of catalytic metal centers with multiple chemical states to facilitate sophisticated reactions involving multimolecular activation is highly desirable but challenging. Herein, we report an ordered macroporous catalyst with heterovalent
