Active-clamping quad-flyback converter
2009 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2009An active-clamping quad-flyback converter is proposed to achieve zero voltage switching (ZVS) for all power switches. The secondary sides of quad-flyback converter are connected in parallel to share the load current. Thus, the transformer copper losses and the conduction losses on the output diodes are reduced.

Active-clamping dual resonant converter
2009 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2009A dual resonant converter using active clamp circuit is presented in this paper. The active clamp circuit is employed to limit the voltage stress and create zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) turn-on feature for power switches. Moreover, the dual resonant tanks are composed by the leakage inductors and resonant capacitors to achieve zero-current-switching ...

Active Clamp ZVT Boost Converter
2006 1ST IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2006In this paper, the technique of active clamp is applied in ZVT boost converter and forms active clamp ZVT boost converter. This converter is not only simple in topology but also achieves ZVT in both the main switch and the auxilary switch. The boost diode turns off naturally and there is no reverse recovery loss.

ESD robust high-voltage active clamps
Microelectronics Reliability, 2009Using circuit simulation extended by a proper failure criterion, the HBM and TLP robustness of high-voltage clamps can be accurately predicted without the need for test silicon. Electrical measurements, physical damage analysis, and device simulation have proved that the drain junction breakdown voltage constitutes the proper failure criterion for our ...

Lossless active clamp for secondary circuits
INTELEC - Twentieth International Telecommunications Energy Conference (Cat. No.98CH36263), 2002Lossless snubbers have been developed with the emphasis on snubbing the primary side switches. With the switching losses in the primary being minimised, the secondary diode losses become a major limiting factor of converter operating frequency and total efficiency. To address this problem, a new active lossless clamp for secondary diodes of switch mode

Improved active clamp for secondary circuits
INTELEC. Twenty-Second International Telecommunications Energy Conference (Cat. No.00CH37131), 2002The paper describes improvements to an active clamp for secondary circuits in isolated converter topologies. The active clamp provides both voltage clamping of the secondary diodes and the recycling of diode reverse recovery energy stored in the leakage inductance of the transformer secondary winding.

The Active Clamp Sepic- Flyback Converter
IEEE 36th Conference on Power Electronics Specialists, 2005., 2006A high efficiency active clamp sepic-flyback converter is presented. The proposed converter is superposition of sepic converter mode and flyback converter mode. Not only sepic mode output but also flyback mode output can be fully regulated by constant frequency PWM control. Merging sepic and flyback topology can share the transformer, power MOSFET, and

Dual Series-Resonant Active-Clamp Converter
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2008A dual series-resonant active-clamp dc-dc converter is proposed to obtain high efficiency. The proposed converter employs an active-clamp technique, while a series-resonant scheme controls the output voltage with the complementary pulsewidth modulation controller. The active-clamp circuit serves to recycle the energy stored in the leakage inductance or

1 kW PFC converter with compound active-clamping
IEEE 34th Annual Conference on Power Electronics Specialist, 2003. PESC '03., 2004A PFC converter employing compound active clamping technique is proposed. It can effectively reduce the loss caused by diode reverse recovery. Both the main switch and the auxiliary switch can achieve soft-switching (ZVS) under certain conditions. The parasitic oscillation caused by the parasitic capacitance of the boost diode is eliminated.
