An adaptive active clamp for secondary circuits

2011 Twenty-Sixth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2011
An adaptive active clamp for secondary circuits is proposed in this paper. Theoretical analyses, simulation results and experimental results show that this proposed active clamp control scheme can reduce the turn-off current of the clamp switch. Furthermore, it can achieve much less conduction loss and turn-off loss when the conduction period and ...

Minimum-voltage active-clamping DC-DC converters

2002 IEEE 33rd Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference. Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37289), 2003
A family of minimum-voltage active-clamping (MVAC) DC-DC converters is proposed. Differing from the conventional active-clamping converters, MVAC DC-DC converters possess minimum voltage stresses. There is no parasitic voltage ringing across the diode of the converters.

The ZVS-PWM Active-Clamping CUK Converter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2004
A CUK converter featuring clamping action, pulsewidth modulation, and soft-switching commutation is proposed to overcome the limitations of the conventional CUK converter. As the resonant circuits absorb almost all parasitic reactances of switches, including transistor output capacitances, this converter is suitable for high-frequency operation ...

Active clamp forward converter with MOSFET synchronous rectification

Proceedings of 1994 Power Electronics Specialist Conference - PESC'94, 2002
The MOSFET synchronous rectification in the active clamp forward converter is presented. The active clamp forward converter has little dead time during the OFF time of the main switch and it is suitable for MOSFET synchronous rectification compared with other forward converter topologies.

Active Clamp Converter with Full Resonant Switching

INTELEC 06 - Twenty-Eighth International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2006
The active clamp dc-dc converter topology efficiently resets the flux in the power transformer with an active switch and a clamp capacitor and provides low peak-inverse voltage for the output rectifiers over a wide operating range of input voltage. But like other isolated power conversion topologies, this topology loses zero-voltage switching (ZVS) for

A common‐source active clamped complex type converter

Electrical Engineering in Japan, 2009
AbstractThis paper presents a novel common‐source active clamped complex type converter. This converter is the intermediate isolated bus converter for the distributed power supply system in telecommunications equipment. Using active clamped circuits, the switching loss and switching noise can be reduced by means of the soft switching techniques.

Highly Efficient Secondary-Resonant Active Clamp Flyback Converter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2018
Both high switching frequency and high efficiency are critical in reducing power adapter size. The active clamp flyback (ACF) topology allows zero voltage soft switching (ZVS) under all line and load conditions, eliminates leakage inductance and snubber losses, and enables high frequency and high power density power conversion.

Active clamp ESD protection in complementary BICMOS process

2010 10th IEEE International Conference on Solid-State and Integrated Circuit Technology, 2010
Abstract A small footprint active clamp design with low voltage CMOS and high voltage BJT components in complementary BiCMOS process is proposed, analyzed by simulation and experimentally validated. The new clamp is composed from stacked NMOS driver to achieve appropriate voltage tolerance and power BJT.

Active-clamping ZVS flyback converter employing two transformers

2007 International Aegean Conference on Electrical Machines and Power Electronics, 2007
This paper presents a two-transformer active- clamping zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) flyback converter, which is mainly composed of two active-clamping flyback converters. [1]-[2] By utilizing two separate transformers[3], the proposed converter allows a low-profile design to be readily implemented while retaining the merits of a conventional single ...

An improved active-clamp ZVS forward converter circuit

2008 Twenty-Third Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2008
In order to achieve zero voltage switching (ZVS) easier for both primary switch and auxiliary switch in the active clamp forward converter, an improved active-clamp ZVS forward converter topology is proposed in this paper. Compared with the conventional active-clamp forward converter, the improved one with an auxiliary network which is consisted of a ...
