Common-Source Active Clamped Complex Type Converter

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electronics, Information and Systems, 2007
This paper presents a novel common-source active clamped complex type converter. This converter is the intermediate isolated bus converter for the distributed power supply system in telecommunications equipment. Using active clamped circuits, the switching loss and switching noise can be reduced by means of the soft switching techniques.

Patterning the Void: Combining L‐Systems with Archimedean Tessellations as a Perspective for Tissue Engineering Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel multi‐scale scaffold design using L‐fractals arranged in Archimedean tessellations for tissue regeneration. Despite similar porosity, tiles display vastly different tensile responses (1–100 MPa) and deformation modes. In vitro experiments with hMSCs show geometry‐dependent growth and activity. Over 55 000 tile combinations

Patch Clamp for MoS2 Layer‐Dependent Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesChemElectroChem
Conventional electrochemical experiments can only obtain the average contribution of all active sites in the catalyst. Hence, it is meaningful to distinguish the electrochemical contribution of the local active sites in single‐crystal catalysts.

Defect Analysis of the β– to γ–Ga2O3 Phase Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The role of defects at all the relevant stages of the β$\beta$‐ to γ$\gamma$‐Ga2O3 polymorph transition is investigated using a multi method approach. The positron annihilation spectroscopy based results show that the defect density decreases after the transition, and that changes in defect configuration within the γ phase occur with increasing ...

Excitability of jcBNST neurons is reduced in alcohol-dependent animals during protracted alcohol withdrawal. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Alcohol dependence and withdrawal has been shown to cause neuroadaptive changes at multiple levels of the nervous system. At the neuron level, adaptations of synaptic connections have been extensively studied in a number of brain areas and accumulating ...
