An adaptive active clamp for secondary circuits

2011 Twenty-Sixth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2011
An adaptive active clamp for secondary circuits is proposed in this paper. Theoretical analyses, simulation results and experimental results show that this proposed active clamp control scheme can reduce the turn-off current of the clamp switch. Furthermore, it can achieve much less conduction loss and turn-off loss when the conduction period and ...

Analysis of an Active-Clamp Flyback Converter

2020 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics - Taiwan (ICCE-Taiwan), 2020
This study explored the operation principles of active clamp flyback converters. A control strategy was adopted to achieve strong noise immunity, and a voltage mode was configured to attain advantages such as simple circuit design. Experiments were performed to verify the feasibility of the proposed active clamp circuit.

Integration of an SCR in an active clamp

Microelectronics Reliability, 2007
Abstract This paper presents the integration of an SCR into a HV power clamp. For low currents the structure operates in “active clamp” mode and clamps the voltage to a value above the maximum operating voltage. After snapback the structure clamps the voltage to a low value as an SCR.

Actively clamped bidirectional flyback converter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2000
An actively clamped bidirectional flyback converter is proposed. The converter's operation is examined in detail. All switches in the converter have zero-voltage-switching characteristics. A low-frequency behavior model and small-signal transfer functions are derived. It is found that the flow of current is directly under the control of the duty cycle,

ACTIVE CONSTRAINED LAYER DAMPING OF CLAMPED-CLAMPED PLATE VIBRATIONS

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 2001
Abstract Surface damping treatments are often effective at suppressing higher frequency vibrations in thin-walled structures such as beams, plates and shells. However, the effective suppression of lower frequency modes usually requires the addition of an active vibration control scheme to augment the passive treatment.

Clamping voltage control strategy for the Actively Clamped Resonant DC-link inverter

IECON 2012 - 38th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2012
The efficiency and life expectancy of PV grid-tie micro-inverter is of critical effect to its performance. The Actively Clamped Resonant DC-link Inverter has remarkable features of simple structure and high efficiency with only one auxiliary switch. The short-circuit control is the traditional clamp circuit control strategy.

ESD robust high-voltage active clamps

Microelectronics Reliability, 2009
Using circuit simulation extended by a proper failure criterion, the HBM and TLP robustness of high-voltage clamps can be accurately predicted without the need for test silicon. Electrical measurements, physical damage analysis, and device simulation have proved that the drain junction breakdown voltage constitutes the proper failure criterion for our ...
